February 13, 2019 Holy Rosary Notes & Quotes Mr. Mullis’ Weekly Letter Quote of the Week: “Relationships are based on four principles: respect, understanding, acceptance, and appreciation.” Mahatma Gandhi Schools have many benefits and positive aspects about them. One of the best is the opportunity to develop strong relationships with other students. These relationships that are developed, some as early as kindergarten, can last a lifetime. As the Gandhi quote says, any good relationship will include these four Important Dates characteristics: respect, understanding, acceptance, and appreciation. I’ve seem many friendships start here at Holy Rosary. The ones that last have these four February 18 - President’s Day - characteristics. The ones that don’t are missing something from those four areas. No School In any relationship you are going to have times of happiness and times of February 21 - Men’s Club Meeting struggle. During those struggles the relationship faces its biggest test. This is February 25 - 8th grade parent mtg the area we have to help our students with the most. How to navigate difficult - 5th grade parent mtg times with our friends so that the relationship stands the test of time. Many times February 26 - Mothers’ Club Mtg February 27 - Used uniform sale. a student comes to me and complains about another student doing something to them. I always ask, “are you friends with them?” When they answer yes I take a March 1 - Skating Party different approach to helping them solve their problem. If they are friends they need to know how to respect one another so that they will take the time to understand where they are coming from when they did what they did. Once they do that it makes it easier to accept the friend even though they did something that was not nice. Then they can grow to appreciate each other and the many gifts their friendship brings into their lives. There’s nothing like a good friendship In this week’s newsletter: to make our lives better. The students may Read Across America wear red accessories to school tomorrow (yes, pink is fine). Wednesday News Is this yours? It’s been lost but not found because it has no name in it. This is the time of year that our Lost & Found collection grows. We try to give back the Medicine Reminder ones with names but there are so many that don’t have a name. We always have lunchboxes, water All medicines are to be turned in to bottles, shoes, non-HRS clothing, etc., with no name the school office. Students are not in it. Please remember to label everything! allowed to keep any medicine with them. All medicines must have a doctors note with them, even the over the counter items like cough drops. Thank you Financial Aid Forms are now available in the school office. All forms are due back on March 1, 2019. Used Book Sale coming up along with Family Fun Night. See the flyer below for all the details. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Mrs. Lynch is still taking book donations in case to have to make room for all the new books you might be getting. And…here’s the good news….you can buy as many as you want!! No limit!! So come shop with us! See you there :-)
