HIGHLIGHTS SUMMER 2019 Winter is slowly coming to an end, although skiing on the Titlis is still possible until 26 May 2019. The mountain summer is just around the corner and brings some new highlights. The focus is on the new culinary pleasure hike, which is ideal for hikers, families and connoisseurs - the Alpkäse Trail. Engelberg is even more attractive for families with the new theme playground and the Zipline on Trübsee. Not to forget: E-mountain biking is an increasingly popular activity, which is why a new e-bike route was created. In addition to great packages, guests are offered events in both the sporting and cultural fields. A visit to Engelberg is always worthwhile this summer! NEW ACTIVITIES ALPINE CHEESE TRAIL The new Alpine Cheese Trail is an appetizing hike through Engelberg’s diverse natural landscape that takes in eight different Alpine dairies. Each day, the farmers here make outstanding cheeses by hand from the finest Alpine milk. Complete the trail on a multi-day hike or explore individual sections – on foot, by bike, or by e-bike. www.engelberg.ch/cheesetrail THE TRÜBSEE FLYER – A ZIPPY NEW ADVENTURE This secure 400-metre steel zipline allows you to whizz speedily but safely down from Trübsee Alpine Lodge to the playground by the lake. As there are two lines, you can make the trip even more fun by riding alongside a friend. The line starts 20 metres above the Alpine Lodge and ends 40 metres of descent lower down, right next to the “smuggler and sumpter” themed playground by lake Trübsee. www.titlis.ch/en/zipline
ENGELBERG-TITLIS TOURISM SUMMER 2019 SMUGGLERS’ PLAYGROUND & SUMPTERS’ CAMP AT TRÜBSEE “Once upon a time there was a smuggler named Engelbert. He regularly had to take the arduous path from Engelberg, over the Joch Pass, to the Engstlenalp, leading his pack mule Schmuggli. One day when the duo arrived at Trübsee, Schmuggli decided he was tired of carrying the heavy load and set about disposing of all Engelbert’s “ wares. The mule dug a whole series of hiding places, creating a labyrinth of paths, trenches and tunnels…” This is the story on which the new themed recreation area by Lake Trübsee is based. An array of exciting playground equipment, barbecue grills, and inviting seats encourage guests to while away a few summer hours here before setting out on the Schmuggli themed walk around the lake. www.titlis.ch/en/schmuggli E-BIKE ROUTES Take a bike tour without sweating? The restaurant will be even more attractive for families, with a special child-friendly section. From July, it will also be able to host conferences and meetings of up to 150 participants.
