September 27, 2021 Navigating the Autism ARD Supplement for Educators and Parents AND Introduction to In-Home and Parent Training (#191640) 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. $45.00 **IN-PERSON SESSION Navigating the Autism ARD Supplement for Educators and Parents Texas regulations (TAC 89.1055) require ARD/IEP committees to consider 11 strate- gies for students with autism. Schools sometimes use the term Autism Supplement to refer to a form that they use at ARD/IEP meetings to address these strategies. These eleven areas must be addressed at every annual ARD. For students eligible under §89.1040(c)(1)(Autism) of this title (relating to Eligibility Criteria), the strategies de- scribed in paragraphs (1)-(11) of this subsection shall be considered, based on peer- reviewed, research-based educational programming practices to the extent practicable and, when needed, addressed in the IEP. AND Introduction to In-Home and Parent Training In-home/community-based training and parent training are two of the 11 strategies on the Commissioner's rules that districts are to consider with students who meet eligi- bility for special education services under autism. In-Home training/parent training is based upon a collaborative approach between school staff and home. This introducto- ry training is for those who are relatively new to providing these services to students with ASD. The focus will be on the sensitivity of going into the home and working with families. Participants will review the in-home training assessment process and sample documentation forms. We will also review the ESC Region 11-developed IH- T/PT assessment. Finally, this session will provide an overview of goal writing and the legal background of IHT/PT services. All participants will be given access to the LIVE BINDER for In-Home and Community-based Training and Parent/Family Training created by Region 11!

One of the biggest steps for successful INCLUSION (school, community, work environments, family) is for students to understand and learn strategies for the hidden curriculum.
