History Marathon of electromobiles unites history and modern technologies On 21. January 1911 the first Rally Monaco (two years later renamed as Rally Monte-Carlo) took place. Henri Rougier on Turcat- Mery 25CV won the first competition. Out of 20 participants who started the rally only 15 reached the finish. The rally was arrange as “star gathering”, i.e. the participants accumulated points for the length of the route that they made on their way to Monaco. That is why the team of Andrey Nagel on Russo Balt C24-50, starting from St. Petersburg, go the First Route Prize in 1912. And the Russians were the ninth in the overall classification. The first start of Electric Marathon Rally was a symbolic restoration of the Tallinn–Monte-Carlo Rally that took place during 1930–1939. The idea of the modern marathon rally for electromobiles on the general use roads belongs to His Grace Prince Albert, Prince of Monaco and Mr. Juri Tamm, Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Estonia. In 2011 Edgar Savisaar, the Mayor of Tallinn, re-opened the Tallinn-Monte-Carlo rally and reintroduced the old tradition in a modern form: now as a race of battery-driven electric vehicles (BEV). H.S.H. Prince Albert, the patron of the marathon, who was in Tallinn with official visit, started the 2011 rally. After that the rally was held five times (in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018).
