Those who received the most Are the squares inside the blue and yellow tried not to show their excitement. Others who had squares all the same color? only a few envelopes huddled low in their chairs. When all the cards had been distributed, the teacher left and put me in charge of the class. As the children opened their valentines, I noticed Serena sitting quietly at her desk. Shy and awk- ward, she came to school sporadically and didn’t seem to have any friends among her classmates. I couldn’t see her face as she looked down at the few valentines spread out in front of her, but I could see the tears dropping onto her desk. Crestfallen, I thought of how hurt she must be, and I knelt beside her, ‘Look!’ she said. ‘Look at all my valentines! I never thought I would get even one. And look – I got six!’ Not many of us know how to receive love so deeply that we can do nothing more than cry and shake our heads in silent wonder. 2

Garden’s Echo February 2019 Mylaine Bélec Executive Director Dear residents, It is with great enthusiasm that I announce today Carolyne Giroux’s promo- tion to director of care of Royal Garden retirement home. Since January 8th, Carolyne has been executing all the functions of her new title with lots of success. She is very happy in her new role. As for me, I am not going very far. I will simply take on more administrative duties for the residence as well as concentrating my time more on human resources. I remain at your disposition to discuss any subject you would like, including your health, and invite you to continue to come see me. I also take this opportunity to let you know that I am taking vacation time in February. I will be going away to Walt Disney World with my little family from February 4th to 15th. I am leaving you in very competent hands and will come back to you well rested and younger than ever after having experienced all the magic of Disney. Pictures to fallow! 4

Garden’s Echo February 2019 A Prayer Dearest Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for the precious gift of love you have given to the world and to me. Thank you for blessing me every day with this love and the power and strength that I get from you every single day. Without your love for me I can't be....I can't function....I can't even breathe...because I NEED your love to sustain me. It's like food and medicine for my soul Lord. Please continue to let me feel your comforting love in my life and Lord I give myself over to you to perfect in me this gift of love...that I may be able to express it and share it with others. Lord...I have not always been good at this...forgive me. Lord...some people are harder to love than others...but I want to be like your Son Jesus...so please continue the work you are doing in my heart so my heart will be like yours. In Jesus name I pray. 18
