Description Occupying an idyllic position Hall’s Place is a Grade II listed property understood to date from the late 16th Century and thought to originally be two cottages which were extended to become a yeoman farmers house. Later in the 1920’s the well- known Farnham architect Harold Faulkner extended the property. Admired for his ability to blend materials and architectural details this skill is reflected in Hall’s Place. Harold Faulkner worked with Gertrude Jekyll on the design of the formal area of gardens. The house was further extended in 2014 to create a glorious vaulted family kitchen. The 17th Century stone gateway and heavy oak door creates an impressive arrival to Hall’s Place and gives access into the entrance hall where the atmosphere is welcoming and the character of the property is clear. Throughout Hall’s Place period features include exposed timbers, oak window frames, oak doors and stone floors. The finish of the interiors throughout are a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary styles, complementing the approach of Harold Faulkner. The drawing room has a wide inglenook fireplace, fitted with a log burner, and a deep segmented bay window with doors out to the garden. The more informal sitting room/snug also has an inglenook fireplace fitted with a log burner. The dining room flows into the family kitchen via a screen of exposed oak timber. The study/family room has traditional oak panelling and an open fireplace set within and there is access to the gardens. The family kitchen is a real feature of the ground floor accommodation. With a pitched roof and exposed oak timber frames it is a bright space perfect for engaged family living with area of soft seating set before a log burner. The kitchen has a modern feel blending traditional and contemporary design, with a with a central island, a Sandyford range, butlers sink and complimentary integrated appliances. There are double oak doors providing access out to the gardens and there is underfloor heating through the kitchen and dining area. Accessed from the dining room is a laundry room and also a boot room with access to the gardens. A rear, secondary lobby has cloakroom and access to the rear gardens. There are two staircases, one from the dining room and the other at the heart of the house. The principal bedroom mirrors the shape of the drawing room below with a segmented bay window providing views across the formal gardens and countryside beyond and has an en suite bathroom. There are a further three bedrooms, one en suite and a family bathroom. On the second floor there are a further two bedrooms and a generous walk in loft.
