Stacey Quinn FCA – Chair Stacey is the manager of the Moore Australia Corporate Finance division with almost 20 years-experience in public practice. Her key areas of expertise include acting as interim/virtual CFO, valuation, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning advisory, governance, and assisting in legal and investigative matters. An experienced financial leader reporting to boards, she has consulted to the Not for Profit and sporting sectors in the development of systems, policy and procedures for improved governance and reporting and operational efficiency. Stacey also has board and committee experience in the sporting, disability and Indigenous employment sectors including Chair and Finance Director roles with state sporting organisations. Stacey is previous chair of the Diversity and Inclusion advisory panel and has been a member of the Regional Council since 2015. Stacey is also a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. __________________________________________ Suranie Alwis FCA – Vice Chair Suranie is a Director of Alwis & Alwis Chartered Accountants, where she provides business and financial advice to clients who operate in various industries across Australia ranging from transport logistics, manufacturing, health providers and property development. Suranie began her chartered accounting career in small business advisory and tax at Edwards Marshall. She subsequently moved to the UK where she worked in various industries before ending up at Smith & Nephew, a FTSE 50 company. Over the course of her 20-year career, Suranie has developed skills in business advisory, taxation consultancy, financial management, treasury management, internal controls, financial and pension reporting and sustainability reporting. Suranie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Suranie was a member of the inaugural Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Council representing members in the UK and Rest of the World. She currently sits on the SA Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Panel.
Bruce Debenham FCA Bruce is a Director at Perks’ leading the Banking and Finance division which provides residential, commercial and equipment finance solutions for its clients. Bruce also prepares Expert Witness reports specialising in banking and finance matters in respect of the banking code of conduct and credit risk management. Bruce is a seasoned finance professional with over thirty years’ experience in banking and risk management. His experience spans various industries including medical and healthcare, agribusiness, property construction and development, manufacturing, retail and transport. Bruce is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. He is currently the SA/NT representative on the Council of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand having served as the Chair of the SA/NT Council in 2018 and Chair of the national Rural and Regional Advisory Committee from 2016 to 2018. Bruce also facilitates Capstone module workshops in Adelaide and assists with marking Capstone and other exam papers. ___________________________________ _______ Luke Rivett CA Luke is Senior Manager at PwC with over 15 years professional services experience including 10 years with PwC in Adelaide and internationally. He has worked across Australia and in Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, Spain and New Zealand. He has worked across multiple teams and areas of PwC’s business (including external audit, internal audit, transformation, strategy and data analytics), held leadership roles within these teams and been involved in transformation, training, development and thought leadership initiatives across the Australian firm. He currently leads PwC Adelaide’s data team and is focused on bringing innovative, data and automation driven solutions to businesses across South Australia. Luke is currently the Vice-Chair of the SA Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Panel, having joined the panel in 2017.
Anna Nolan FCA Anna is an accomplished Senior Finance Professional with over two decades of experience in senior finance leadership positions spans across banking, manufacturing, technology, retail, healthcare, and charitable sectors. After starting her career in professional services (KPMG, London), she has held senior leadership positions in large publicly listed global companies – BOC Gases, France Telecom and is currently the CFO of The Hospital Research Foundation, a large not for profit. She has international experience having lived and worked in the UK, France, Netherlands and Australia over her career. She has a particular-passion for risk management and cyber security and has recently graduated from Harvard VPAL course – Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age. She is also a graduate of the University of London, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Anna was Chair of the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) SA/NT Council in 2019 and has been a Council member since 2015. She was also a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Panel of CA ANZ from 2012 to 2018. __________________________________________ Karlie Yuen CA Karlie is the Chief Financial Officer at Nova Concepts Australia, a market leader supplier of quality pet treats to large retail chains across Australia. She has held senior leadership positions in SA Government and the Mutual Sector, and prior to this worked for Elders Rural Services and KPMG. Through her broad range of experience in various sectors, she has been involved in business transformations, implementation of financial systems, audit, strategic planning, financial management and reporting. Karlie is an enthusiastic advocate for the professional associations, having previously been a committee member of the Young Chartered Accountants Panel from 2011-2012 as well as the Emerging Leaders Panel for the Customer Owned Banking Association in 2017 – 2019. Karlie has been a panellist and has hosted a number of events and conferences for the Panel and Association.
Jodie Silvester FCA Jodie is the Managing Director of KAS Accounting Solutions, with offices in Darwin (NT) and Kununurra (WA). Jodie graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2004, completing practical experience as an accountant with several public practice firms within NSW. It was the move to the top end of Australia to support her husband in his quest to gain his pilot’s licence which ultimately gave Jodie the opportunity to establish her own firm in Kununurra and eventually branch out into Darwin. Operating in remote areas which would not usually have access to financial services, Jodie’s passion is to deliver professional services and mentoring to indigenous Australia, Not for Profit organisations, small business and individuals. In 2019 she was named the Australian Telstra Business Women’s, Small Business award winner. In 2020, Jodie was elected to the SA/NT Regional Council at CA ANZ. With many young CA Members employed within her practice, Jodie feel’s it is very important to strengthen the link between the CA ANZ and regional members. She is focused in providing support to regional CA’s and to helping them to understand the importance of their professional body within their careers. __________________________________________ Simon Graetz FCA Simon is a Director at Messenger Zerner and has over 25 years of professional experience providing comprehensive business services and taxation advice with particular experience in auditing. Simon’s clients come from a broad range of industries and he takes great pride in their success’. He enjoys the variety of work and the building of relationships with his client base which includes; primary producers, professional advisors, public and private companies, Australian financial service licences and associations to name a few. He has international experience, having worked in the United Kingdom and has served on various not for profit boards and school governing councils. He has a close association with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand having recently sat on the Trans- Tasman Public Practice Advisory committee and SA Public Practice Panel together with being a current member of the SA/NT Council.
Dr Philip Palmer CA Phil is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University. He has extensive teaching experience in Financial Accounting across Flinders Business’ undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. He is currently the Program Director for the Bachelor of Commerce degree. He has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) with Honours and a PhD in Accounting. Having an interest in first year transition, Phil has worked closely with first year topic coordinators to implement the strategies and processes Flinders Business and the University have developed to help first year students transition to university. He is passionate about producing enterprising, work- ready accounting graduates, who have the necessary technical knowledge and personal attributes to make a successful contribution to the accounting profession. Phil worked in the banking sector for 14 years and as a commercial banking analyst for much of this time before joining Flinders, giving him an in-depth industry understanding. __________________________________________ Anthony Stewart FCA Anthony (Tony) Stewart is a senior finance executive with over two decades of global finance leadership experience focused in the consumer goods, manufacturing and distribution, and agribusiness sectors. After starting his career in the accounting profession (Arthur Andersen) this experience has been gained working for a number of large private and listed businesses - Pernod Ricard, Detmold Packaging, Beam Inc. and currently as Group CFO and CCO of Thomas Foods International. Through this Tony has had the opportunity to live and work in the US, Asia, Europe and Australia. He has a particular passion for driving change in fast paced, challenging and culturally diverse contexts. A graduate of the University of Adelaide, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Tony returned to his home state of South Australia in 2014 joining Thomas Foods International at that time.
Scott Jones – Regional Manager SA-NT The role of Regional Manager is responsible for the development of key relationships with all major member segments, including member, committee and council activities, provisional members, and other external stakeholders. Scott is an experienced people leader with over 20 years-experience in education and sports industries. Scott began his career in State Sporting Organisations, progressing to the Australian Sports Commission and most recently the University of South Australia as Manager: Student Life. Scott commenced in the role of Regional Manager SA/NT in August 2020 and brings strong experience in stakeholder management, governance, strategic administration, public speaking and team development to the role.
