For those of you returning, we thank you for your continued support. We could not run such a great event without you. During this Escape weekend, we will be offering you over 30 varied dance workshops together with a number of diverse sporting activities including the Segway Challenge, Giant Swing, Kurling, Rock Climbing Wall, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery and the Ultimate Game of Volleyball, to name just a few. The Potters Theatre Company have prepared a selection of top quality shows to entertain you after dinner each evening. Freestyle will kick off from 10.00pm continuing until the early hours of the morning. If this wasn’t enough and to keep you dancing all night, there will be a midnight snack available too. Saturday night will be a smart dress evening, starting from 5.45pm with the BIG 100 Years Potters Celebration Bucks Fizz Party. Please take a moment to read this programme to ensure that you don’t miss out on any of the activities. Useful Information Swish DVD 2020 It’s impossible to attend all the classes this weekend and how can you remember everything you learn? Well we have the solution!!! We are producing the official Swish DVD which contains the classes from the weekend. The DVD will be available to purchase from Sunday morning at 10.00am from the Ceroc Information Desk at the special discounted rate of £20 (usually £25+p&p online). There is limited availability so grab your copy before they sell out and take it home with you! Please note: Ladies Styling, SILC Foundation and Progressive aren’t included. Fixed Couples In Classes We completely understand why some couples would wish to dance in classes together. Classes involving lots of drops and/or aerials are perfect to do with a fixed partner, however, Ceroc is built upon a social foundation and we are a community where everyone helps everybody else. Moving around in a class ultimately helps you become a better dancer whether you are leading or following and therefore we would like to kindly request that wherever possible you join in with the main class (rather than remaining fixed) so that everyone has a better Swish experience. We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation. Nu-Line Dance Over the past six years Ceroc has featured a line dance which is danced at every single weekender up and down the country and several freestyles. We are always lucky here at Swish being the first weekender to get to learn the new dance. So please don’t forget to come and join Becki on Friday evening in the theatre at 5.45pm to learn this year’s new Nu-line! Re-Booking Swish To re-book Swish for 19th to 22nd February 2021, please visit the ‘Booking Lounge’ from 9.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 9.00am on Monday morning. There is an early bird price for anyone who books before the 29th February 2020. Alternatively, you can visit www.cerocescape.com/swish to complete an online booking form. Please see the last page of this booklet for pricing and room options. Aphrodite Beauty Studio / Hair Studio The Aphrodite Beauty Studios offer a wide range of beauty treatments from clinical procedures, sports injury massages and alternative therapies to beauty treatments all targeted to your specific needs. Teachers at Swish 2020 Alex Faulkner (AF) and Karen Toko (KT) Alex has been dancing since he started walking and is now a Fellow of the International Dance Teacher’s Association (IDTA) in Ballroom and Latin. Together with our hostess of Swish, Karen Toko, they will be looking after your Rumba and Quickstep Classes this weekend. Further, and new to the schedule in 2020, please join Alex for his Dance Fit class on Saturday Morning. Becki Rendell (BR) Becki has taught, judged and performed internationally. Whether dancing upbeat Swing, sultry Latin or smooth SILC, she always stands out from the crowd. Join the ever popular ‘Ladies Styling’, plus a highly anticipated Salsa debut on Sunday morning. Brett Stewart and Claire Parker (BS) Brett has been a Camber headliner for many years now. His dance style is unique and funky, his teaching is clear and achievable, his classes are awesome and fun and he is kicking off the whole weekend with the Swish Ice Breaker Class. Dale St Rose (DR) They don’t come cooler than Ceroc Croxley Green and Twickenham’s Dale. Ceroc Open Champion for the third year running, the original ‘Mr Smood’ always delivers fresh techniques in his workshops. His characteristic style demonstrates expert musicality. Ekow Oduro and Tash Kelly (EO) Ekow’s the guy that you’ve watched in freestyle and, with an audible swoon, dreamed that you could move just like him. His raw talent, natural performance and enviable choreographic mastery is second to none. This event, he shares his secrets in his In Sync and Swag Meets Elegance Classes. He will be teaching this weekend with his beautiful partner Tash. Glen Brooks and Nicky Lang (GB) Glen Brooks has been teaching Ceroc for a massive 17 years and is one of the organisers of this event and the Ceroc Cruise. He’s enthusiastic, bubbly and ready to show you some Hot New Moves this weekend. Jo and Terry Deacon (JD) Jo originated from the world of Ballroom and Latin but soon became addicted to Ceroc more than 11 years ago. She has been teaching now for 10 years and has had many successes at the Ceroc Champs throughout her dancing career and Jo and her husband Terry will be looking after our Beginners this weekend.
Teachers at Swish 2020 Karen and Joe Toko (KT) This girl is a Ballroom and Latin Goddess, and her ‘Luscious Latin’ classes draw in the hugest of crowds. Her Saturday morning lesson is the perfect way to start the day: a touch of frame, a dash of footwork, a heavy dose of style mixed together and all performed with the multi-award winning Joe Toko. Kieran Moore and Charlie Brownlee (KM) Kieran & Charlie can be found at all the top events across the UK and they are as approachable as they are inspirational. They are both veterans on the circuit now, viewed as the premier SILC dance couple and regular teachers on all the Ceroc Weekenders. Their popularity continues to soar, their style, moves and routines are smooth, seamless & effortless. Lyndsey Bennett and Ben Davies (LB) Multi medal winning Lyndsey, aka ‘mama dragon’ from South Wales, has been teaching Ceroc for over 10 years. No stranger to the national circuit, Lyndsey brings to Swish her energy for all things Ceroc in addition to her talent in both 50’s Rock n Roll (Jive) and Tango. She is also joined on stage by Ben Davies, a Ceroc teacher and stand-out dancer with a trophy cupboard to match. Paul Brooks and Nicky Lang (PB) Paul is one of the organisers of the Swish event and also runs the Ceroc Cruise. He has bundles of energy and is dynamic on the dance floor and will give you a superb dance experience. He has been teaching Ceroc for 14 years and has a huge amount of knowledge and together with dance partner Nicky, they will teach you a flowing and fluid routine this weekend. Phil and Alex Motley (PA) Phil and Alex have been teaching Ceroc in Middlesbrough for 19 years, where they are best known for their monthly “Challenging Tuesday” classes. Phil and Alex have taught regularly at Ceroc weekenders and are most widely known for winning numerous competitions with their spectacular showcase routines; ‘The Way You Make Me Feel – aka Bob the Builder’, ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘Night Fever’. Simona Tatarova (ST) Sassy and stylish superstar Simona is here from Ceroc Kent with some amazing new lessons including Danspiration and Spectaculary Ordinary. Whether you join her workshops, have a freestyle dance, or simply have a chat, you’re guaranteed to understand why she is here at Swish for the second year in a row. Steve Thomas (StTh) The incredibly talented mastermind at the helm of Ceroc Evolution and host for such prestigious events at the legendary O2, the inimitable Steve Thomas is a kind of a big deal. If he wrote his own teacher biography, it would say something along the lines of “the best teacher and dancer in the world”, “as attractive as he is modest” or “a sharply dressed, witty, God-amongst-men”. This is the very reason we don’t let him.
DJs at Swish 2020 Brett Stewart Brett may be the Ceroc Disney Prince, but he’s a master DJ too! A regular on the DJ scene in Dorset and Southampton, he’s well known for playing a great set of classic and funky new tunes for your dancing pleasure, so make sure you get down to his Friday and Saturday sets. Being brought up on Soul music, Kieran has a strong passion for music and regularly DJs at both national and international dance events. DJs at Swish 2020 Lyndsey Bennett Lyndsey runs Swansea Rock n Roll Club and DJs 50’s jive events all around the UK. At Swish she will DJ both the Swingers hour and Tango hour. Paul Brooks Paul is the main man here at Swish being responsible for music across the event. He is also Head DJ at the London Ceroc Champs which he has been doing for the last eight years. Before working for Ceroc, Paul was a full time DJ both at weddings and parties and also on the radio. There are no boundaries to his talents and music knowledge. Robert Ellis For the last eleven years Robert has pioneered the music for Ceroc Fusion’s Smooth Nights and other Chillout rooms in the South East of the country. Steve Thomas Steve is the resident Ceroc DJ and organiser at the massive O2 London Ceroc events. Over the weekend, he will be taking you through a rolling journey of uptempo floorfillers blended with new and recently discovered gems as well as those smooth tracks he’s most recognised for. Terry Deacon Terry was introduced to the world of Ceroc six years ago and has become an established DJ at his very own venue in West Sussex. He is looking forward to making his second appearance at Swish this year. Tony Riccardi This Essex boy was a mobile DJ in his younger days. He’s been a resident DJ for Ceroc Groove in Birmingham for the last six years, a regular at the Ceroc weekenders and has guest DJ’d across the UK.
