Frederick News – February 12, 2021 Start of Hybrid Learning Once we start hybrid learning next week, our students on site will need to learn our new processes and procedures for attending class in school. As a result, our remote students may have more instances of asynchronous learning while we are helping students transition within the school the first few days. We are confident we will create new routines quickly and find our stride as we adjust to hybrid learning. Our students have continually proven themselves adaptable and resilient when it comes to change, and we anticipate this being no different! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! The School Day at Frederick during Hybrid Learning We have been working very hard to get our school prepared for welcoming hybrid students onsite in the next few weeks. As a reminder, the dates for the start of hybrid learning are as follows: Tuesday, February 16th: 5th Graders in Group A Thursday, February 18th: 5th Graders in Group B Monday, February 22nd: 6th Graders in Group A Thursday, February 25th: 6th Graders in Group B On Monday, February 8th, all families who have elected hybrid for their child(ren) should have received an email that contains important information. This includes how to access your child's schedule via Infinite Campus, bus route information, important information related to health and symptom screening, and more. Please be aware the hybrid students should be prepared for potential changes to their schedule, either in the order of their core subject area classes or their homeroom teacher assignment. We are pleased to say that all students are able
to stay with their current grade level teams, so despite these changes hybrid students will be able to stay in classes with familiar teachers. While the start of hybrid learning is a step towards a return to normal, please remember that there are going to be many differences between hybrid learning and a typical school year. We want to do our best to prepare all students and families for this so they can be aware of what to expect. Our staff will be working with students in the next week during the school day to make sure everyone is ready, but we are also providing this hybrid learning presentation to our families ahead of time so our entire school community can be on the same page. We definitely encourage parents and students to review this presentation together! Hybrid Learning Information - Frederick School (English) Aprendizaje híbrido enFrederick School (Español) Daily Certification Please be sure to read over the attached information regarding our daily certification process and requirements for all students returning on-site. CCSD46 Daily Certification Process and Requirements We are eager for the opportunity to have our students at school! In order for your child to attend school in person, each day they attend you will need to certify that they do not have any COVID symptoms and no fever within 90 minutes of them leaving for school. This daily procedure is required for each day your child attends in-person hybrid instruction. In our CCSD 46 schools, we will be using a Blue Card Certification Process. These blue cards with lanyards will be sent home with your child on the first day of attendance. Each in-person school attendance day, after certifying your child is symptom-free, you will give your child the Blue Card to present to the staff at the entry of school. The Blue Card and lanyard will be given to your child on the first day of in-person attendance, or soon thereafter. Until that time, you will be expected to print out the Student Certification Form that is included at the bottom of this communication and sign for your child to bring to school each day. This form is to certify that prior to the student utilizing district transportation and/or entering a district building, the student is free of any of the listed COVID-19 symptoms and criteria. In order for your child to participate in Hybrid Learning, please confirm your commitment to comply with this process by completing the attached Google Form. (The form only needs to be completed one time and only one form is necessary for each family; please list all of your children when completing the form.)
