Through the grace of our Lord and generosity of the parish, we turned three cases of tootsie rolls into more than $1300 in special Olympic donations. The papers for the Catholic Citizenship Essay contest are completed and on my desk for evaluation and 31 October is our final Sunday for the 40 days of life program. Brother, if you missed out on all of this, opportunity is knocking. We will begin our Keep Christ in Christmas card sales on 13 November, pass out coats for kids by Thanksgiving, assist the parish with the Holiday Food Basket preparation and distribution in December and help the Parish celebrate the Consecration to the Holy Family on Sunday 26 December. Habitat for Humanity is still available for those who would like to participate, see Brother Bob Estrada to get on board. Our next business meeting is Wednesday 3 November at 7 pm on ZOOM. Our next council meeting is Tuesday, 9 November, also 7 pm on ZOOM. As always, our focus remains on Faith in Action Programs and fund raising to enable those donations. Valerian Grubb, OSB Assembly #1844 MEETING MINUTES FOR 10.21.2021: Our meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM on Zoom. Opening ceremonies included prayer and flag pledge. Roll call of officers and attendees showed that there were only 5 knights present, and since the quorum of eight was not met, FN Swortz declared this in invalid meeting and no business could be conducted. He indicated he would provide information and reports for the edification of those attending./Navigator Report: FN reported that the Supreme Master communicated to all assemblies that we need to be recruiting new members, noting that there are over 2 million KCs but only 370 thousand 4th degree knights. About 18.5% and the average age is 65 Yrs. He is asking all assemblies to try harder to get the 3 rd degree members in, saying too many assemblies are “just coasting”. I feel that we are one of the coasters and at fault for not leading our assembly better. Please contact your 3rd degree brothers and encourage them to advance to 4th degree so we can get involved in more “Patriotic” activities. He also requested us to continue to support the Military Chaplains funding./ Our district is holding a 4th degree Exemplification on Nov. 6 in Kirkland. We would have to submit Form 4’s NLT Oct. 30th for it. / (Purser & Comptroller reports are not published in The Voyager) Unfinished Bus: 1 case of KCIC cards was purchased. New Bus: KCIC cards sales will be conducted at all masses, starting Nov. 13 thru Dec. 5. We join forces 3 rd degree and split income. Please consider which masses you can assist in selling. We like to have minimum of 2 knights for each mass, 3 are better. / Good & Welfare: KEN LOPEZ underwent life threatening surgery on Oct. 20. Please pray for him and others listed elsewhere in The Voyager. / Adjournment: Next meeting in November 18 on Zoom. Closing Prayer and Hymn: God Bless America.
