On January 12, Green Circle Health, a Pensacola, FL, based provider of health care management and wellness services announced plans to locate its Client Services Center here, creating up to 125 new jobs by 2022. The company will invest nearly $1 million to lease and furnish office space in Carmel. It has opened an initial 1,000squarefoot office at 9640 Commerce Drive and plans to expand its footprint as its Indiana team grows. Clinical professionals at the company’s Client Services Center will provide remote health care and coaching for GCH Platform users anywhere in the U.S., helping improve the coordination of care and treatment of chronic disease and illness. Green Circle Health, which currently employs 25 fulltime associates at locations across the country, is now hiring for specialized positions, including a chief medical officer, a data analytic consultant, a consulting physician, a nutritionist, wellness coaches, nurses and medical staff. A partial special Census conducted in select parts of Carmel during the summer and fall of 2016 has resulted in a new population count for Carmel, adding 7,755 people and bringing Carmel’s official population in 2017 to 86,946. That's an increase from 2010 when the City’s official population was 79,191. The number of housing units is now 32,836, up from 30,738 in 2010. And here's a bonus: Carmel will see an additional $1.7 million over the next five years in state tax revenue that is distributed based on population. READ MORE HERE ANNUAL REPORTS Historic Preservation Commission awarded 6 'Facade Grants' in 2016 for historic properties In 2016, the Carmel Historic Preservation Commission implemented a pilot façade grant program designed to help owners of historic properties complete projects that will improve and restore the historic character of their property. 1/25/2017 Workspace Webmail :: Print READ MORE ABOUT THE COMMISSION Carmel Redevelopment Commission reports a busy year ended on solid financial ground The CRC was busy in 2016 and will be even busier in 2017 as it oversees Carmel's redevelopment districts. In a recent report delivered to the City Council, CRC Executive Director Corrie Meyer reviewed the major projects underway in the City. She also reported an ending bank balance of $3.5 million. Among the projects reviewed: Construction is underway on the new Allied Solutions building and garage in Midtown; project agreements for Midtown West and Monon and Main were finalized; and a design contract for the future Monon Plaza has been finalized. Looking ahead to 2017, the CRC will be busy overseeing the redevelopment of the "Party Time" property, now known as the Proscenium; working with designers on the Monon Trail expansion in Midtown; and issuing a request for project ideas for the former Arby's property at Carmel Drive and Range Line Road.
