We hope everyone is staying safe and navigating their way through the remote learning that is currently in place. As we continue to tackle the challenges it brings, it is critical that we take the time to support each other, as well as create and promote the positives that are happening around us. As we continue with our distance learning, if you are having any struggles at all, please know that you can reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or to Mrs. McKay-Funnell, our VP, or myself, Mrs. Langford. We want to support you and problem solve with you regarding any barriers you may be facing with your child’s learning. We can also help you get connected to community resources, if need be. Now that the warm weather is here, it is a great time to go for a walk or a bike ride and explore the environment around you. While exploring, stop at different spots and find the math along the way. Get outside and enjoy some physical activity, cooperate, and learn in a fun way that helps kids see how math is everywhere around them. Try these activities to get you started! All their help is very much appreciated!! While attending in-person learning, our students benefit from healthy foods from all four food
groups each school day. During remote learning, NEW SOUTHSIDE VOLUNTEER however, it is harder for us to get that extra food to our students and as a result, we would like to offer NUTRITIOUS SNACK COORDINATOR support for our families who are struggling to put NEEDED food on the table. Southside is looking for a new NSP Coordinator for September.
