COVID Testing Update As of Feb. 2, 2021, Maui County’s free Voluntary Testing Program • 20,127 COVID-19 tests given • 444 positives • Voluntary Testing Positivity Rate: 2.21 % Special Mobile Testing: • 9 am – 1 pm, Thur, Feb 4, Shops at Wailea • 8 am – 1 pm, Fri, Feb 5, Haiku Community Center • Register: www.minitmed/pre-register-maui-covid-19
Vaccine Update •The Hawaii DOH announced, starting Thur., Feb. 11, CVS Health (Longs in Hawaii) will be administering COVID vaccines statewide •Maui’s location will be at Longs in Kahului •Supplies are limited, CVS must follow state criteria for vaccinations
Vaccine Update •Hawaii is in Phase 1B of its vaccine rollout •This group includes those 75 years old and older, and frontline essential workers, including educators and childcare workers •Registration in advance required; visit www.CVS.com •Walk-ins will be turned away

East Maui Bridges Update • Traveling to East Maui (south of Hana town)? • Overnight road closures from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning Sunday, Feb. 7, and continuing through Friday, Feb. 12 • Closures are at mile markers 44.7 and 45.5 • The closures are needed for the safety of work crews conducting on-site preliminary engineering studies of roadway conditions for bridge replacement or rehabilitation
East Maui Bridges Update • Affected: South Wailua Bridge at mile marker 44.7 Waikakoi Bridge at mile marker 45.5 • Traffic will not be able to pass through the work zone during night work hours • The County is evaluating rehabilitation or replacement of the 110-year-old bridges • For more information, contact the Department of Public Works Engineering Division at 270-7745
Severe Weather Advisories • The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flood advisory for the island of Maui until 4:15 pm today • May be extended if flooding persists • Gusty Winds and Heavy Rain to affect islands of Maui and Kahoolawe until 4:30 pm today • Torrential rainfall may cause localized flooding
Rent & Utility Relief Program • Maui County will receive $40 million to help residents with rent and utility bills • Federal funds from the Emergency Rental Assistance Program of the United States Treasury • Helps those financially hurt by COVID-19, at risk for homelessness • Qualifying households must be at, or below, 80 percent of area media income • Housing & Human Concerns to solicit RFPs from qualified nonprofits to administer the program
