Register for One Big Voice today! RAC Arena: Friday 30th August 2019 EVENING Register online on the One Big Voice Website www.onebigvoice.com.au Complete the online registration form. Payment is to be made online at the time of registering. If you are not sure of your choir numbers, select what choir size you think it is likely to be. Adjustments can be made at the first workshop. Select your preferred option: Matinee or Evening Places are limited; availability will depend on when your application is received. Registration closes 3 p.m. Friday, 1 March 2019. Rehearsal and One Big Voice Performance A short rehearsal will be held on the same day as the performance - only one set of buses is required!
One Big Voice Friday 30th August 2019 RAC Arena Share the magic with us ! One Big Voice: Is the largest children’s choir in Australia. Is open to all schools, public or private (Years 3 - 6). Has a carefully chosen repertoire that reinforces positivity. Many songs are specially written or arranged for this festival by our Musical Director, Donna Marwick-O’Brien. Has ONE rehearsal only, before the concert. The real work is done by you, at school with your students! Provides teachers with the skills to teach choral music, and builds musical confidence and competence. Teachers have the opportunity to conduct in the concert if they wish to do so! Provides teachers with two Professional Learning Workshops, an information session at the Perth Arena, an informative book with all festival details, sheet music and professionally produced CDs with vocal and backing parts. Provides a non-competitive environment for children to experience the pure joy of singing. Has many soloist singing and compere opportunities for students. Provides students with a professionally produced CD to use in practising their parts. Provides password protected access to a website for students and teachers. Uses Lux Events for Audio and Visuals, and a 40-metre screen and special effects lighting. Musical Director Donna Marwick-O’Brien has been a music educator in WA for over twenty-five years. She is a talented singer/musician and songwriter who writes or arranges many of the songs that are used for the One Big Voice Festival. Donna has a particular gift for communicating with children through music; in 2011 she was granted the 'National Award for Excellence in School Music Education – Excellence by a Teacher'. She also conducts workshops for teacher participants in this festival as well as other workshops for junior primary and music teachers in Perth, including Music Count Us In and Musica Viva. She writes and records songs for the West Coast Language Development Centre. Donna is the music specialist at Bambara Primary School and teaches at Edith Cowan University.
What you need to know! 1. Registration is to be completed online by 3 p.m. 1 March 2019. 2. Fees must be paid online and any adjustments made by Workshop 1. Payment is to be made promptly! 3. There are two workshops and one information session that teachers must attend: Workshop 1: Saturday, March 9, 9:00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Venue: Glengarry Primary School, 25 Doveridge Drive DUNCRAIG Workshop 2: Saturday, May 25, 9:00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Venue: Glengarry Primary School, 25 Doveridge Drive DUNCRAIG RAC Arena Session Date to be confirmed. (half day relief required) 4. Concert date for One Big Voice is Friday 30th August 2019 5. Rehearsal and concert are on the same day; only one bus is required. Rehearsal time 3:30 p.m. Pre-Concert entertainment 6:00 p.m. Concert 6:45 p.m. 6. Purchase tickets online through TICKETEK; no ticket handling by schools. 7. Information can be found on the One Big Voice Website to which you will have unlimited access. 8. Your registration fee covers all music, three workshops, copyright fees/licences, teacher manual, studio-produced CDs for teachers and students, venue and sound system hire and teaching support. 9.
