First of all
• As a staff member you’re obliged to follow the Covid-19
rules at the faculty. You’re responsible for your own
  behaviour.
• Keep a distance of 1.5 metres, carefully observe the
hygiene measures, and avoid crowded places.
• All staff members work from home unless there is no other
  option.
• If you yourself or one of your housemates are showing
  symptoms stay at home.
• The complex manager (the Dean) is responsible for the
faculty specific Covid-19 measures and rules.
                                                              3

The measures at AE:
  • Follow the guidelines of the Executive Board
  • Are in line with the guidelines of the national
government and the association of universities,
    VSNU
  • Minimalise the movements of traffic on the
    campus
  • Do not lead to an increase in movements inside
    the buildings
  • Take into account the impact of traffic on the
    public space and public transport
                                                      4

Corona plan - update 22-04-2021
You work from home, unless:
• You have to do location-specific work, e.g. researchers
working in a laboratory and teachers giving practicals or
  streaming lectures.
• If you want to come to the faculty for other reasons, ask
  permission from your supervisor.
• Your supervisor is responsible for the coordination and
scheduling of those present at the same time at the
  faculty.

                                                              6

When and how to travel to the campus?
• Preferably you don’t travel to the campus
• Try to avoid travelling during rush hour
• Avoid crowds and busy junctions
• Don’t stand too close to the people around you and
    give each other space

                                                         7
Corona plan - update 22-04-2021
Travelling on the campus

• Follow the traffic instructions on campus
• Keep your distance from each other and avoid
crowds: stick to the one and a half metre rule.
• Do not move from one complex to another on
  campus on the same day

                                                    8
Corona plan - update 22-04-2021
How do you get into the building?
• In the AE Main Building only one entrance is open at the Kluyverpark
    side.
• The rear entrance (turnstile) has to be used as an exit (one-way traffic)
• You open the door with your own campus card and check in with your
own campus card (so don't walk with the person in front of you)
• The opening hours of the main building and HSL are: Mon to Fri, 7:30 -
    18:00 hours
• The Fellowship is accessible for lecturers and students involved in
practicals and for reserved self study places.
• On a bicycle? The bicycle cellar is open for employees. Again, you only
enter with your campus card. Priority rules and walking route are
    indicated in the basement

                                                                                9

Face masks
• All staff, students and visitors are obliged to wear face
masks on campus when moving through common areas in
buildings. This means upon entering the building, when
moving between spaces and when leaving the building.
Once you are seated in your working space or lecture hall,
you may remove your face mask.
• Please note! The TU Delft rule that disposable or personal
reusable facemasks are not permitted in the
microbiological, chemical and radiological labs, does not
apply to AE. In our chemical lab you do wear your
  personal disposable or reusable facemask.

                                                           10
Self-tests
• The cabinet will provide free self-tests to students and employees.
• The use of these self-tests is voluntary and not a requirement for working or
studying on campus. However, we strongly advise everyone to use the tests as it
can help detect new infections and prevent new outbreaks of the virus.
     – If you come to the faculty occasionally, please test shortly beforehand.
     – If you come more often because you are involved in teaching or other faculty-
related work, test yourself regularly. Twice a week for example.
     – The idea is that you do the tests at home and throw the tests away at home
         too.
     – Also advise your external guests to do a self-test beforehand. The free tests
for students and employees are of course not meant for external parties. They
         must purchase their own self-tests.
• From the beginning of May, employees and students can order these free self-tests
    online. More information on: www.zelftestonderwijs.nl.

                                                                                         11
Service Desk
• The Service Desk is open
• Please stick to the 1,5m directions indicated by the
  floor markers
• A splash screen on the desk gives extra protection

                                                         12
If you really have to be in your office
• We ask you to make sure the work place is
maximally ventilated. Open a window if you can – for
at least 15 minutes at the start of the day - and don’t
use a fan to recirculate air
• Recirculating airco systems will be switched off when
there are more people working in the same room
• Through the building management team, all
ventilation systems are adjusted in such a way that
  safety is guaranteed

                                                        13
Labs/facilities (1)
• Employees can only come to their lab for location-specific
work. Students can only visit the lab for practical lab-
specific work for their graduation thesis.
• The facility manager will make a work roster: who can
work in the lab and when. Posters with the work rosters
and capacity of the labs will be stuck to the doors
• If you have to use shared equipment, instruments or tools,
please disinfect them before and after use. Disinfectant
  spray will be provided.

                                                               14
Labs/facilities (2)
• Air circulation and ventilation systems differ per lab.
The building management team will discuss with the
department chairs and lab managers what the best
solution is for each lab regarding ventilation and
  capacity
• If you work in a lab, please also take your own
precautions to maximise ventilation. Open a window
if you can and don’t use fans to recirculate air

                                                            15
Common areas
• Follow the priority direction and distance measures
indicated on the floor and wall markers in the
corridors, the entrance hall and staircases. Busy and
narrow locations can for example (temporarily) be
  turned into one-way ‘streets’
• Taking a lift? Keep a distance of 1,5m in front of the
  lift doors when you’re waiting
• There’s room for 2 persons per time in the goods
elevator (HB: highrise) and 1 person per time in the
passenger lifts (HB: highrise and NB: newbuilt)
• Wear a mouth mask in all common areas

                                                           16
Catering

• There is a food truck located at the Fellowship
  building.
• AE - F&B Corner is closed.

                                                    17
Sanitary facilities
• The toilets and showers at the faculty are open
• One person can enter the toilet area at a time, even
if there are multiple toilet or shower stalls
• Always close the lid before flushing the toilet
• Leave the outer doors to the toilet or shower area
open. It will make it easier to see if there’s someone
  inside already

                                                           18
Meeting rooms
• We strongly advise everyone to meet online.
• Contact Joyce ten Berge in case you have very
urgent reasons to plan your meeting in the
  faculty building.

                                                  19
Pantries/Copy
• Follow the directions on the floor markers at the
  coffee machines and printers
• DE coffee corner is open
• Use your 'keychain/touchpoint' to operate the
devices. Then you don't have to touch them yourself
• A maximum of 2 people can stand in/near a pantry at
the same time. Above all, adhere to the 1.5 m
  measure here as well

                                                    20

  flexible work places

                                                      22
Visitors
• Only welcome external visitors if there’s no alternative.
• Do you really have to meet with external visitors? Please
notify faculty secretary Joyce ten Berge, noting the reason
for the visit. She coordinates these requests to prevent too
many visitors in the building at the same time. Once
approved, Joyce will notify the Service Desk. Please
provide the telephone number they can call when your
visitor has arrived and pick up and drop off your visitors to
  the Service Desk yourself
• Do not 'wander' through the building with visitors, but go
directly to the room where you want to stay with them.
                                                              23
Students
• There is a mix of on campus and online education
• Students can come to the faculty for e.g. exams,
practicals, graduation thesis research and design
  education.
• With permission from their supervisor, master students
can apply for access to the relevant building/lab for
experimental research by contacting Joyce ten Berge
• If a student is unable to work off-campus, the student can
make an appointment with a study counselor
• Information for students can be found at:
  https://www.tudelft.nl/en/2020/tu-
  delft/coronavirus/students/

                                                               24
Graduation sessions

• From 3 May students can organise their master
graduation sessions in the faculty building again
• They can bring a maximum of 3 guests
• Via the Service Desk they can book lecture rooms C
and D or meeting room 1 for this purpose.
• We strongly advise all participants to take a self-test
  before coming to the faculty.

                                                            25
Travel restrictions (1)
• Employees and students who have been in a country
or area with an orange or red travel advice for health
reasons are expected to spend 10 days in self-
isolation. In doing so, we follow the advice of the
Dutch government. For employees, self-isolation and
its consequences are at their own risk and expense.
Read on the TU Delft corona website what the
consequences can be. Travel restrictions for
students can be found on Brightspace.

                                                       26
Travel restrictions (2)
• Travel policy for staff and students remains
tightened. Until further notice, it is not possible to
book trips via TU Delft to high-risk areas or countries
with a red or orange travel advice. Travel only if
necessary and in consultation with your manager.
Travel restrictions for students can be found on
  Brightspace.
