Student Health Insurance Fall Enrollment August 23, 2019 Deadline September 27, 2019 • Enroll into the plan • Waive coverage (For the academic year) • Add Dependents (Student must enroll first per semester )

Undergraduate Student Fee… • Fall - $544 August 24, 2019 - January 17, 2020 • Spring - $544 January 18, 2020 - May 15, 2020 • Summer - $544 May 16, 2020 - August 22, 2020
Opt Out/Waiver Process… • Students coverage would have to be compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). • Can opt out during the Enrollment/Change Period. – August 23-September 27, 2019 • To find the Waiver form go online to www.si.Illinois.edu, under Opt Out.
What is considered ACA Compliant? • No maximum lifetime dollar amount limit. • No restrictions to coverage for pre-existing conditions. • Must provider for inpatient and outpatient mental health care. • Cover health care received within a 50 mile radius of the Urbana-Champaign campus. • Be in effect on or before August 24,2019 and must remain in effect until the last semester the student is enrolled for that academic year.
Before opting out, consider this… • If your plan requires the student see a specific doctor and there is not one in the UIUC area, the student would need to travel home to see that doctor. So in effect, there would be no coverage here at school. • Please contact them with any further questions

McKinley Health Center
What’s the difference between Student Health Insurance and McKinley Health Center? Student Health Insurance McKinley Health Center • McKinley is the only campus health • Supports students at off campus center for students who have been health facilities if there is a need assessed the health service fee • Students are automatically enrolled • Fee is assessed to students enrolled in into the University plan, but have the 6+ hrs and is mandatory (no waiver) ability to opt out if they qualify • FEES: $238/semester, $119/summer • Fees: • Students can use all of McKinley’s – $544 Each Semester a student is services including health education, enrolled in courses mental health, women’s health, lab, • To opt out, students must fill out the radiology, and pharmacy to name a few online form and show they are in • Your insurance carrier is not a factor compliance with the Affordable Care when coming to McKinley Act.

Student Assistance Center & E-Dean • Common Reasons to Contact the Student Assistance Center – Academic difficulty due to physical or mental health issues – Extenuating life circumstances impacting academic performance and/or overall functioning – Seeking assistance finding or getting connected to support services on campus – Medical withdrawal and re-entry – To report a concern about the well-being or safety of themselves, another student, or the broader community – Difficulty with a professor or TA – Not sure where else to go • When to call the Emergency Dean – A student has been seriously hurt and a group of friends are in the hospital waiting room upset and awaiting news about the student’s condition. – A group of students living in an apartment complex experienced flooding in their apartments at 9 pm. They are displaced and need assistance finding lodging for the night. – A parent wants university assistance in notifying a child, who is a student, about the sudden death of a close family member.

What we do… • New Student Programs aspires to provide a transformative experience for undergraduate students through an integrated first year experience that supports students to become engaged leaders in the campus and global community.
Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates • Topics Covered: Healthy relationships, gender roles and stereotypes, the importance of consent, bystander intervention, understanding and responding to sexual misconduct, and campus policies, reporting, & resource information • Deadline: Training is mandatory for all students and should be completed prior to classes starting (spring registrations holds for students who do not complete) • How to Access: Training can be accessed via the admitted student checklist, ISSS checklist, or through instructions in student email • Questions: Contact the Title IX & Disability Office at (217) 333-3333 or titleixcoordinator@illinois.edu
