Happy, Healthy, Holidays
Over the course of the year, the Department for Education will be providing grant funding to all local
authorities across England to coordinate free holiday provision - including healthy food and enriching
activities - for children who receive benefits-related free school meals.

As a Trust, we’ve identified and contacted our eligible pupils and we’re in the process of distributing
food and activity parcels to over 400 home addresses.

Each parcel contains breakfast and lunch for five days, plus an activity pack featuring recipes linked to
food in the parcel, along with ideas on how to get active.

We’re thrilled to be able to support
Wakefield Council with this initiative
and we’re grateful, not only to the
council and the DFE, but to our
fabulous driver, John, who is kindly
delivering the secondary academies’
parcels for us… all 350 of them!

Distribution of the remaining parcels
is being arranged via our primaries.

those who sadly lost their lives to Covid-19.

Isabelle added “We’ve suffered so much loss and it’s really important that we take
the time to reflect on that.”

What a lovely idea, wonderfully executed. Well done.

As has become the tradition at Ossett Academy, the last week of each half-term is a focus
for recognising pupils. For this reason, this week over 1200 pupils were recognised, across all
year groups with a big thank you and an Easter egg!

To receive recognition, pupils needed to have had good attendance and to have met all
standards on return to the academy, and maintained these standards throughout.

Well done everyone!
WOW Wednesday!
On Wednesday we celebrated the work of over 150 pupils, each receiving a certificate for sharing their quality work!

In order to receive a certificate, pupils take their work to the WOW Wednesday table in the Atrium where they can chat about
it to a member of SLT.

Pupils can catch the day’s highlights on the TV screens across the academy!

 See you there next time!
