Number of e-continuing education courses and learners 2015-2021 courses participants In 2021 near 80% of all continuing education learners participated in blended or online courses.
MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) • https://moocs.ut.ee • free courses, digital certificate for learners who complete the course • 47 MOOCs (24 in English, 23 in Estonian) • Ca 55 500 participants, average completion rate 48% (2014-2021) • most popular MOOC „About Programming“ – over 8600 participants
The components of MOOCs • course introduction and study guide; • communication tools (e.g. forums); • learning materials to support independent learning, including an introduction to the topic, textual study materials and video clips of the lectures on each subtopic (preferably up to ten minutes long, with subtitles in the original language and possibly in other languages); • activities that activate learners, such as self-tests, forum discussions and tasks with feedback from fellow learners; • graded test or other assignments; • a questionnaire to provide feedback on the course and the learning environment.

Ouriginal • Plagiarism detection commercial software https://www.ouriginal.com • Ouriginal compares uploaded texts to three types of sources – materials available on the internet, publications in databases available via the UT Library, and other student papers uploaded to Ouriginal • Ouriginal Moodle plugin enables to upload assignments, forum posts and workshop files to Ouriginal and report links are visible in Moodle course • Ouriginal does not specify whether or not the text is plagiarised - report shows to what extent the analysed text overlaps with other texts (incl. properly cited quotes).
