The R&A supported University of Stirling high performance
golf programme was established in 1981. It is part of the
International Sports Scholarship Programme whose alumni
include Olympians, World and Commonwealth Games athletes.

Stirling has won more British Universities team Championships
and sent more players to the FISU World University
Championships than any other institution worldwide,
with many alumni currently playing on professional tours.

     Training and Competition
Our individually tailored golf programme, for men and women,
enables scholars to combine their high performance training with
     study for an academic degree.

The weekly schedule comprises up to 10 hours coaching time and
three hours fitness training with specialist staff. There is access to
sports science support, including diet and nutrition, psychology,
physiotherapy, lifestyle management and medical expertise.

Squad members compete in Scottish and British University
competitions and also take part in regular training camps abroad.

Perfect location
The Stirling campus is regarded as ‘one of the most beautiful in the
world’ (Guardian University Guide, 2011) with views of a large loch
and an historic castle.

There is a strong community feel through the many clubs and central
social area, which includes the library, eating facilities, shops and
arts venue. We are particularly proud of the tremendous diversity
among our students, coming from across the UK and abroad. It all
adds up to an inspirational learning and living environment.
