Cambridge Professional Development A Quick Online Guide to Online Professional Professional Development 2020-2021 – 2020- Development Guide: 2021 Online learning provides greater flexibility and more opportunities for personalised learning. Under the guidance of an experienced Cambridge tutor, participants can study at a time and in a location where they feel most comfortable. Participants will engage with the material provided and its relevance to their existing knowledge and circumstances. Tutor-guided courses are limited to a maximum of 25 participants to ensure that the tutor can dedicate time to each participant, and ensure all questions receive high quality answers. We have produced a guide where you can find out more about what to expect from a Cambridge International online course. Frequently asked questions Where can I book online courses and find out the latest information? You can find information about all of our available online courses and book a place on our website. Please continue to check the online pages for updates throughout the year. Please note that not all trainings and workshops will be available in each session. Is there an early bird booking discount? Yes, we provide a 20% discount for early registration. Specific deadlines can be found on the course website pages and in each course’s description. What are the differences between the online courses and face to face courses? All of our training provides support for teachers in their professional development and leads to improved outcomes for learners. Quality content, reflective practice, and collaborative learning are essential parts of all of our face to face and online courses. What time do I need to be online to participate in an online course? Can I participate in the course from my time zone? We recommend that you access the course every day to check your messages and keep up with any discussions, but you are not restricted to being online at a particular time of day. To help you manage your time, we provide guidance on which days to carry out the activities for each week. Do you provide certificates for your online courses? Yes, successful completion of our online tutor-guided courses is based on participation in collaborative activities with teachers from around the world. Participants who complete all key weekly activities and engage fully in discussions throughout the course will receive a certificate of completion. Particpants who complete some of the activities and disccusions will receive a certificate of participation.
Do I need to attend the online marking workshops if I have already attended the extension F2F events? The workshops are open to anyone who would like to further their understanding of marking. There will be new scripts for marking workshops every year, different from those used in other training events. Teachers can return annually to refresh and develop their understanding or marking. Can I take multiple courses at the same time? Yes, you may choose to do multiple courses at the same time. You should expect to spend 3-6 hours a week on an online tutor-guided course, but this can vary slightly depending on the course type. We recommend that you consider the time required and plan your schedule before signing up to multiple course running at the same time.
