Dressage Southland January 2021 Tournament 9th & 10th January 2021 Gore A & P Showgrounds Entries Close – Sunday 20th December 2020 Important Information All enquiries Event Secretary Corinne Ward, email dscompetition@gmail.com, phone 0272318048. Stable and Yard Manager – Tyler McKee 027 235 5150 Responsibility: It is the rider, or person responsible, obligation to read and understand the conditions for this event as published in this schedule. 1. ESNZ Registration for Graded Classes: Entries will not be accepted without full ESNZ rider and horse registrations current to the insert Last day of the show. All classes may be entered using a flexi start. 2. ESNZ Registration for Non Graded Classes: All Riders must be a Full or Introductory ESNZ member current to the 10/01/2021 or pay a Casual membership fee of $15.00 per day. 3. Horses and Ponies maybe registered, use a flexi start or not be registered. 4. Grading Points: No ESNZ grading points will be awarded for Non-Graded classes or to unregistered horses. 5. Rules: This competition will be run under the current (2020) ESNZ GR’s, VR’s & ESNZ Rules for Dressage. 6. Official start time: The official event start time is 7am – 09/01/2021. This is the start time for the period of jurisdiction for all Equestrian Sport New Zealand (ESNZ) General Regulations and ESNZ Dressage rules. Please note Dressage NZ rule 477 prohibited gear is not allowed from the time of arrival at the event. 7. Official finish time: The official finish time will be 60 minutes after the completion of the last class or 60 minutes after the completion of all presentations for the event whichever is later. 8. Protests & Complaints: Protests and complaints may be considered by the Ground Jury at an event in accordance with Art 137 of the ESNZ General Regulations. As a guideline only, protests must be lodged within 60 minutes of the completion of the competition to which the protest relates, and a complaint within 60 minutes of the completion of the event. Dressage Top Ten Leagues: Riders wishing to accrue points in any Dressage NZ Top 10 League must have registered online at www.equestrianentries.co.nz prior to 1st December 2020 for the 2020/2021 season. 10. Dressage National Leagues & Series: No points will be accrued for the Super 5 League, Zilco Musical Freestyle Series, Prestige Futures Prize or Pony & Young Rider Performace Award at local events. 11. Dressage Tests: All tests are from DNZ Test book version 2019 Reprint 1 or FEI Website. Please note new V2021 FEI tests may apply from 1 January 2021 for Small and Medium Tour, and Grand Prix.
Event Conditions 1. Amendments: The organising committe reserves the right to to refuse entries, cancel the event, alter the programme/schedule and/or prize money within the ESNZ and DNZ Rules. 2. Presentation of Prizes and Prize Money: See DNZ Rule article 485. Preliminary – Medium: 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20, 4th - $15. Advanced Medium & above: 1st - $40, 2nd- $35, 3rd - $30,4th - $25. Rosettes to 6th for all grades depending on numbers. Grading score of 57% + required to be eligible for prize money. Prizemoney will be paid via electronic banking within two weeks of the completion of the event. 3. Equal Placings: In the case of equality in any qualifying class, the higher collective marks will determine the higher placing. If the competitors are still equal, then the higher co-efficient marks will determine the placings. If there is still an equality of points, the competitors are given the same placing. 4. Riders with more than 2 horses: The OC will make every effort to ensure that riders have at least 60 minutes between rides. However, if this is not possible owing to the scheduling of classes, the maximum time possible between rides will be allocated. 5. Maximum entries: 3 tests per horse/pony per day. 6. Hats: ESNZ approved riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted. 7. Non Competing Horses: All horses and ponies on the grounds after the official start time must be entered at the event unless the organising committee gives permission otherwise. 8. Stallions: must comply with ESNZ Article 133 and must be housed in a stable at all times. 9. Liability: a. Competitors and spectators attending this event do so at their own risk. b. Gore A & P, ESNZ, Dressage NZ or Dressage Southland nor any representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any loss, damage, injury or illness to horse/pony/rider, spectators, land, vehicles or any personal property whether caused by their negligence or breach of contract in any way whatsoever. c. Gore A & P, ESNZ, Dressage NZ or Dressage Southlandshall not be liable for the safety of any goods/equipment or the loss of, or damage to such, brought in/stored at the venue, during the event. 10. Health & Safety: a) ESNZ, Dressage NZ and Dressage Southland is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy event for all participants, and to providing the information, training and supervision needed to achieve this. b) Competitor or Exhibitor must comply with the appropriate Legislation and Health & Safety at Work Act 2015. c) Each Competitor and/or exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and shall be liable for any hazard created, accident, illness or damage caused by the action of themselves at the venue of the Event d) All competitors and associated staff/visitors to the venue must abide by the ESNZ, Dressage NZ Rules, the Dressage Southland and Gore A & P Health & Safety Policy’s e) Copies of the event Health & Safety policy can be found at the event office. f) Any incident or near miss must be reported to event office and an incident form completed. g) Any hazards identified must be reported to event office. h) Competitors will be responsible for their safety at all times and must observe safe practices and following event rules and officials’ instructions at all times, ensuring that others are not put a risk by their actions. Covid-19: As the current climate is one in which alert levels may change rapidly, Dressage Southland has implemented the following terms and conditions of entry. If the competition needs to be run under Alert Level Two, entries will be limited to 70 riders. However, this number is subject to change dependent on current government or sporting body requirements, and/or to ensure the safe running of the event Entries for all events will be taken as a ‘first entered and paid’ take preference if competition numbers need to be restricted. A ‘waitlist’ system will operate. Riders must nominate the support people who the competitor expects to attend with them on the day/s of competition Events will be closed to the public at Alert Level 2 Contact tracing requirements MUST be completed on entry to the grounds for ALL. This will include name, contact phone and/or email address, date of entry to the grounds. This data will be retained by Dressage Southland for
two months and then destroyed. Non-compliance means no entry into the grounds If any competitor or member of their support crew is unwell, or shows flu/cold symptoms, the expectation is that you do not attend the event. The Organising Committee reserve the right to remove people from the grounds due to health concerns. Scratchings: if, either due to change of Alert Level or health concerns, if competitors notify the Competition Secretary (must be via dscompetitionsecretary@gmail.com) of scratchings and request a refund, prior to the start of the competition, a full refund (excluding Equestrian Entries on-line fees) will be paid. No supporting documentation will be required. Amendments to stabling/yarding may need to be implemented The Organising Committee reserves the right to alter and/or amend the schedule and/or programme to ensure the safe running of the event. 11. ESNZ Concussion Policy: a) This event will be run under the ESNZ Concussion Policy Guidelines. b) Dressage NZ policy requires all riders to report to Medical Officer or Steward following a fall. c) Medical clearance must be obtained before remounting or competing. 12. ESNZ Drug & Alcohol Policy ESNZ reserve the right to drug or alcohol test any participant at the event under the ESNZ Drug & Alcohol Policy 2020. Draw will be available online with Equestrian Entries & sent out via email approximately the Sunday/Monday prior week to competition. 7. Scratchings and Refunds: if, either due to change of Alert Level, health concerns, or any other reasons, if competitors notify the Competition Secretary of scratchings prior to the start of the competition, a full refund (excluding Equestrian Entries on-line fees) will be paid. All Competition Arenas are closed at all times except as stated in published programme. 2. Lunging is not permitted on the all weather surface 3. Arena familiarisation: Horses may be hand walked or ridden at walking pace around the exterior of the competition arena unless advised otherwise by the Technical Delegate or Steward. 4. Familarisation Times TBA Horse Identificaiton, Venue, Vehicles, Camping Conditions Approved Dressage NZ Horse/Pony identification numbers must be worn at all times when competing. 1. When not competing, it is compulsory that horses/ponies are identified with ID tags also that include, person responsible name and mobile phone contact number. Tags are available for purchase from the Event Office for $5. 2. Unregistered horses must have ID tags with Owners Name & Phone number 3. Temporary yarding must comply with ESNZ rules. 4. Entry is to the grounds is via Salford Str. Please keep the gate shut. 5. Any damabe to Gore A&P Showgrounds facilties must be reported to the Event Office 6. No smoking in any buildings or stable areas. 7. Dogs must be on a lead from the time they enter the showgrounds 8. Speed limit for all vehicles 10km 9. Trucks and Campervans requesting power must have a valid electrical certificate and under no circumstances will allow other vehicles to connect to their vehicle via extension cords. 10. Motorbikes must not be used after 8.30 pm and must be used in accordance with normal road rules. 11. Persons under 16 yrs may not use motorbikes. 12. Bicycle helmets must be worn in accordance with NZ road rules. 13. Please be aware that, if parking beside arenas, you must be parked 1/2hr before the official starting time and can only leave during a lunch break or at the end of the tournament. No vehicles can load or unload horses or be moving while riders are warming up & competing.
Professsional Services 1. Equine Therapists and Treatment a. Any equine therapists or practitioners who are not veterinarian and intend to provide therapeutic treatment to equines in any capacity at this event in a private or commercial basis must notify the Organising Committee of any treatment prior to the event. b. All practitioners must also comply with the Conditions applicable to this event set out in the Schedule of classes. c. Riders who own their equipment (eg Equissage, Cyclossage or similar) are only permitted to treat their own horses with these systems at the event. d. Any practitioner receiving financial or other gain from providing therapies at the event will be required to pay a trade exhibitor fee at the discretion of the Organising Committee. 2. Other Professionals including freelance grooms a. Any other professional intending on providing services at this event must obtain prior agreement from the Organising Committee – this excludes professionals Dressage Coaches assisting in the warmup of competitors and grooms that are in part or full time employment of a competitor. NON-GRADING CLASSES Please refer to the conditions above plus the following which is just relevant to the non-grading classes: All riders must be a member of ESNZ, horses may be registered or unregistered. Rider/Horse combinations that have been registered Elemantary/Level 3 or above at any time are not eligible for prizes but are able to ride HC Beginner Classes: These classes are for riders/horse or pony combinations that are new to the competition atmosphere. If you show jump, event or show at A & Ps where you canter then these classes are not the classes for you. Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. Dressage Southland Accumulator Series 2020/2021 Dressage Southland Encouragement Awards Generously sponsored by Sandra and Brendon Cleaver The 2019/2020 Dressage Southland Introductory Tests C, D, E, F Encouragement Awards aim to help riders’ transition to registered competitions. Separate sections for horses and ponies. Dressage Southland competition days included are: 31st October & 1 November 2020 5th & 6th December 2020 9th & 10th January 2021 27th & 28th February 2021 27 March 2021 (double points) Points allocated as follows: 70%+ - 10 points 65-69.99% - 7 points 60-64.99% - 5 points 56-59.99% - 3 points 50-55.99% - 2 points Under 50% - 1 point Conditions: Open to all competitors at Dressage Southland competitions regardless of geographical area Riders may not have competed above Introductory Level since 1 August 2018 Horse/pony may never have collected points above Novice (Level 2). Current combination must not have collected registered dressage points Horse riders that place in the top four cannot compete in the accumulator in the following years but may still enter the Introductory tests If you do not meet the above conditions, you may not compete in the Accumulator Series but you may still enter Introductory Level tests Pony riders that finish in the top four can compete in the accumulator in the following years but can only claim reimbursement towards registration once. Final will only include the first days’ results to allow for mounted presentation on Sunday 21 st March.
