PRESIDENT’S REPORT - NOVEMBER 2018 Hello fellow Club Members, It was a pleasure to see that Round One was supported so well by the riders in all of the classes, and that the new team of marshals stepped into their roles easily; and the overall meeting went to plan. Unfortunately we ran a little over time due to the number of spills, but no doubt riders will settle down as the season gathers momentum. I am sure by Round Two riders will be a little more polished. The Club looks forward to seeing all the riders at Hampton Downs on the 11th of November. The Road‐Race committee did a great job getting through the machine checking with such a large number of bikes entered, and Sam from MX timing ‐ with the help of Kendal and Nikki – had everyone signed‐on in time for riders briefing. The Carl Cox Series came to life, and there was some great racing in both the Hyosung races, and with the 400 Kawasaki. I have a feeling this class will go from strength to strength. Young Jacob Stroud and Zak Fuller were going hammer and tongs all day. If the racing in the two premier classes was anything to go by, then the Suzuki Series and the Nationals are going to be very competitive, for both the Superbikes and the 600 class. It was great to see Sloan Frost, Baillie Perriton, Connor London and Daniel Mettam showing good form so early in the season, in the Superbike class. In the Super Sport 600 class Nathanael Diprose and Regan Phibbs also showed early form. The Club is pleased to have sidecars racing as part of the race program, and looks forward to the numbers continuing to grow in this exciting class. Round Two on the 11th November looms just a few weeks away ‐ however there is one very important piece of track housekeeping that we all need to be aware of. That being that riders are responsible for their crew and family. In one of the races, four riders went down in Turn Four, and a spectator climbed over the safety fence and ran over to the fallen riders. While at the time the action was well –intentioned, please talk to your crew, and ask them to refrain from such behavior. The ramifications don't bear thing thinking about. The AMCC marshal team at these points are very good at their job, and if the ambulance is required, it is on its way very quickly. Hampton Downs and the Club ask that accidents be left to the medical team, to attend to the riders.
It is good to see that fire extinguishers are now for the most part on display in the pits. Also remember the wet weather red light ‐ and make sure you are ready, as who knows what the weather will be like in November. Race bike numbers continue to be a bane for officials ‐ wrong size, wrong colors, etc – and officials shouldn't have to worry about them. Please read Rule 10, and if your numbers don't meet the rule, please make sure that for Round Two they comply. We all want to go racing with the least amount of hassle, and officials don't like being the kill joy. I'm sure that there will be many riders working on building their race team of three for the Motul 6‐ Hour on the 18th November. Make sure you are aware of the Rules for the endurance race, including the requirements outside of racing, For example ‐ the speed in pit lane is 40kmh, and the re fueling procedure, to name a few. The Club is still looking for a Secretary, so if interested please give me a call on 0211262905 and I would be happy to discuss what is involved to be a Club Secretary. Mark your diary for the 24/25 November, for the National Motorcycle Show at the ASB Showgrounds. The Club will also be using the Motorcycle show to further promote the Club Series. If you feel you can help give Peter Nagle a ring 0274970101. He may have a job for you. All of you would at some stage have seen Elton Goonan from Hampton Downs around the pits. Elton has decided to move on to other ventures, so the Club would like to thank Elton for his support of AMCC, and wish him well for the future. A big thanks to our Sponsors, who have supported the AMCC Club Series for 2018. Cheers, Paul Stewart | AMCC President

No Paeroa in 2019: PAEROA PROMOTIONS TRUST MEDIA RELEASE: Wednesday 26 September, 2018 Paeroa Battle of The Streets After much consideration, Paeroa Promotions Trust has made the difficult decision to discontinue the Battle of the Streets event. Rising costs and decreasing spectator numbers have brought about this decision. The Trust wishes to offer it's heartfelt thanks to Hauraki District Council, Auckland Motorcycle Club, Motorcycling New Zealand, event sponsors and the community of Paeroa for their unwavering support of this iconic event over the last 27 years. Also, a very special thank you to all competitors who have risen to the challenge of ‘The Hacksaw’, providing simply breath‐taking spectator viewing along the way. Lastly, thank you to our invaluable volunteer groups of Paeroa and Hauraki for giving so generously of their time and expertise. Without them this event simply wouldn’t have existed. Over the 27 years, the Battle of the Streets has seen more than $700,000 granted to local community groups, honouring the founders of the Battle of the Streets and their mission ‘to raise funds for charitable purposes for the benefit of the Paeroa community’. While the Trust is saddened to have to call time on ‘the Battle’, it is proud of what has been achieved over the lifetime of the event; it’s a true celebration of community at its best. From three blokes sharing a few beers and an idea… it’s been a hell of a ride! Jo Tilsley President Paeroa Promotions Trust

Auckland Motorcycle Club MEDIA RELEASE 23 October, 2018. Tight racing characterises opening meeting of Auckland Motorcycle Club Series: Despite a higher than usual number of stoppages for incidents, three full rounds of racing were completed at Round One of the 2018‐19 AMCC Club Series at Hampton Downs last Sunday; with the racing characterised by healthy fields, and tight racing across all categories. Current NZSBK Superbike champion Sloan Frost took a pair of wins in Superbike, with Connor London picking up the win in race three. With Daniel Mettam and Bailie Perriton also amongst the action, there was some spirited dicing at the head of the Senior field, and this extended back into the Supersport 600 and Superstock 1000 classes as well. Nathanael Diprose swept Supersport 600, but there was nothing between Regan Phibbs and Tarbon Walker for the other podium spots; whilst in Superstock 1000 Adam Chambers would have enjoyed the trip home to Clive, with a trio of wins under his belt. As usual, Intermediate provides more than its share of action, and this season appears to be no exception. Defending class champion Matt Dunlop battled all day with Michael Patchett in ProTwin 650, whilst in Superlite Nick Olson leads the points after Scott Findlay on the flying ZXR400 Kawasaki, was a DNS in race three. Chris Malcolm was best of the 125cc 2‐stroke GP class. Junior comprised 250 ProLite, with Darrick Kattenberg on the podium in all three races; and Lightweight Production, where Nathanael Diprose took Gavin Veltmeyer’s KTM390 to a trio of wins, as Veltmeyer continues to recover from injuries sustained at Taupo earlier in the year. The Hyosung Cup has this year expanded into a dual‐class competition, with the introduction of the EX400 Kawasaki ‐ to create the Carl Cox Motorsport Hyosung and Ninja Cup. Running as a combined grid, there is a Cup up for grabs in each class – and the field was full. Jacob Stroud stamped an early mark in the Kawasaki class, whilst over on the Hyosung’s, experienced Cup regulars Grant Cullen, Josh Augustine and Michael Patchett have made the early running. Clubmans, Sidecars and Post Classic completed the entertaining 20 race programme for the day. The 2018‐2019 Series is organised and promoted by the Auckland Motorcycle Club – who acknowledge all our valuable partners for the current season:‐ Carl Cox Motorsport, Castrol, Counties Honda, Darbi Accessories, Hyosung NZ, Motomail, Mr Motorcycles, Nationwide Accessories, Spectrum Motorcycles, Red Baron, and Whites Power Sports – along with MX Timing and CTAS Live.
