The forty days of Lent are a season for careful self- examination and humble repentance. We come to know during these weeks that we are not God but we rely on the true God for our hope and salvation. Lent is not about “beating ourselves up” but instead finding ways to draw close to God and receive the love and grace of Jesus. We are providing this calendar to help you through the weeks of Lent. This calendar, designed by Cortney Babajtis and Martha Johnston, offers scripture readings, prayer practices, encouraging poems, and service opportunities in which to engage during this season. It is my prayer that you will use this calendar and the activities contained in it not so much as a “to-do” list but instead as an important spiritual pathway through which we can learn together as disciples, be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, and grow in love and grace. Urgent Need for Ushers and Counters There is an urgent need for volunteers to serve as ushers and counters. Volunteers are invited to serve on teams for both tasks. Ushers welcome people as they arrive for worship and help collect the weekly offering. Counters tabulate the weekly offering and ensure all money collected is properly accounted for and ready for deposit in the bank. These are both critical tasks! If you are interested in serving in either of these roles, please contact the church office. Preschool Silent Auction Introducing Save the date!
