September, 2021 To God Be the Glory West Corinth News 120 Corinth Church Road Mooresville, NC 28115 704-857-7532 www.westcorinthbaptistchurch.com Pastor’s Corner: Wow, what a month it has been! I want to first thank the Lord Jesus for allowing our church to support, back, and help send Bro. Scott Hardwick to the South African mission field. Upon his return, Bro. Scott took two services and gave a very detailed update on what is happening in that part of the world. It is great to hear the stories and see the pictures of how God is moving in the hearts of people in an area of the world that most of us will never have the privilege of seeing. You need to understand, however, that you may not have physically gone, and you may never step foot on the continent of Africa, but because of your love and concern for lost souls and your generosity to those that have been called to go, you will receive a great reward from your Heavenly Father. There is much work to be done here at home and abroad, and I am just thankful that we can be a part of this great work. On a different note, this month, because of the extreme generosity and obedience to God’s Word, the people of West Corinth Baptist Church did what most would consider to be an almost impossible task. From a congregation with an average of approximately 120 people each Sunday morning, you have been able to pay off a loan of around $700,000 in less than seven years. ONLY GOD COULD PERFORM SUCH A FEAT! On Sunday morning the 22nd, we had a special service with the intent of giving God all the glory for what has transpired here at our church, followed by an absolutely wonderful meal and time of fellowship. I hope we will all take a few moments and reflect on just how truly blessed we are as a people and as a church. With the church being completely out of debt (Praise the Lord!), it opens up many doors of opportunity. Please join me in prayer as to what God would have us to do that may bring honor and glory to Him, and lead lost souls to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. May God Continue To Bless West Corinth Baptist Church, Pastor Robert 1

September, 2021 To God Be the Glory From Banks Davis: Here is an update Banks sent as he prepares for mission work. School- Tuesdays we have chapel to start off our school day. This is put on by all of us in the training center. We have songs, a five minute message and then a regular sermon by a veteran missionary or pastor. After this, the rest of the days we split up in between males and females and this is the day that we look over sermons and different passages in scripture to prepare sermons out of. Counting this past week and the next two weeks we are required to prepare six sermons. - Wednesdays we have a class on the Gospels and are required to preach a five minute message from a passage from any of the four. I am to preach in two weeks and will be preaching on Mark 1:16-18. We also have another class this day and are going verse by verse through the book of Acts. - Thursdays we have a class on Christian family and also a class on Christian Life. - Fridays we have our round table discussion with the leadership of this mission board and missionaries that are here on furlough and/or deputation. - We do have several assigned readings and reports to do throughout the semester we are in. Discipleship -I meet every Wednesday morning at 6:00am with a mentor from the church and we read the bible together, and he answers any questions that I might have. We are supposed to be going through a discipleship book called Foundations that he is the author of. We opened it the first week and haven't opened it since then. I keep him pretty busy with all my thoughts and questions. This is one of my favorite parts of the week, and probably the one thing that has really helped my spiritual growth. - I am also supposed to start going over my sermons one on one with another mentor here that is also the training center director. - I have also been pouring into others and have tried to be a good example of a Christian man to them. There are a half a dozen or so guys from the age range of 14 to 19 that I spend a lot of time with. One I pick up for church every Sunday and Thursday and he rides with me on the van route. Another example is one kid that has his permit and I will pick him up and take him out and give him driving lessons. Then there is just a lot of being there and spending time with them. I have plans to have breakfast with one tomorrow and also spent the whole afternoon with one today while I got supplies for our outreach event tomorrow. I really love and have a passion for doing this which excites me and motivates me to get to the field and be able to do this with young men in different countries that can be raised up to lead churches. I do believe that this is something God has blessed me with the ability to do, I just need more preparation on being able to teach them the Bible and leading them in that aspect. I will be traveling to Burkina Faso in Africa on August 31st thru September 8th to learn from on the field missionaries. I will be going with the director of our training center and one other student that will be staying there on a six month internship. Thank you so much for the prayers and support. I believe whole-heartedly that this is where God wants me to be, and that I am going down the path that he has set in front of me. My heart is full, and I hope to use this to show others Jesus. 6
