Totus Tuus Team Members Needed Our Totus Tuus program has been thriving and growing the past several years, and we know a lot of that is due to the wonderful team members we’ve been able to recruit. We also know that young men and women say “yes” to serving on a Totus Tuus team most often because they were personally invited by someone who is a former team member or someone who was positively influenced by the program. Now that all of our parish spots have been filled, we need help recruiting some great team members for the coming summer. If you know of faithful, energet- ic, creative college-age men and women whom you think would be good for the job, please warmly invite them to apply at www.comeandfollowme.org/totustuus. Anyone with questions can contact Carla Oliver at coli- ver@cdop.org or (309) 671-1550 or Fr. Chase Hilgenbrinck at fr_hilgenbrinck@cdop.org. In addition to down- loadable applications, more information on the program and team member information can be found at the web address above. Parents of Priests and Seminarians Retreat Priests, please let your parents know about this year’s POPS Retreat, which will take place at Sacre Coeur Retreat Center, July 29-30. 6 April 2023 Diocesan Mailing CATHOLIC CHARITIES Backpack Program A quality education leads to hope and opportunity and we want to make sure children throughout the diocese are equipped to succeed. Through the generosity of many donors, Catholic Charities is able to provide several back- packs filled with supplies to children in need around the diocese each summer before school. In 2022, over 500 backpacks were distributed to children in Champaign, DePue, Galesburg, Lacon, LaSalle, Odell, Peoria, Rantoul and Rock Island. We would like to expand this program to more areas for 2023. We can only do this with your help. If you would like to donate backpacks or supplies or have a drive for supplies at your parish let us know. We will be collecting the following items: Backpacks, Rulers, Erasers, Pencils, Pencil Sharpeners, Pens, Markers, High- lighters, Glue Sticks, Notebooks, 2-Pocket Folders and Lined Writing Paper. We place a spiritual item in the back- packs to help each child realize they are not alone – Christ is with them.
