Project context New media is the most powerful force in forming our perception of reality in our days. Taking into account the current media trends in Europe, we propose to analyse the role and impact of online and social media in creating a stereotypical image of a disadvantaged person. In line with the Erasmus + programme objectives, our project is envisaged to prevent the violent radicalisation of young people and to reach out to young people with fewer opportunities, like minorities, people living in less developed rural regions, LMBTQ people, migrants and their children, etc., either directly or indirectly through youth workers working with these groups. The project objectives are: to understand how and why media content is produced - to make distinctions between different types of media content (news journalism, propaganda, promotion, entertainment, etc.); to explore the crucial elements of a reliable journalist’s craft (balance, reliability, usage of proper sources; to learn to evaluate the reliability of sources and to approach any information critically and guide young people in this process; to explore the interrelation between media messages and tolerance/intolerance in our societies; to learn how to distinguish between media and audience bias and how to support youth in these issue; to promote the core EU values and cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme. We aim to develop critical thinking skills of youth workers and raise the organisations’ capacity in the field of new media literacy to contribute to the quality of life of young people, emergence of new approaches and development of a more inclusive, tolerant, peaceful society and develop the quality and potential of digital youth work.

About Turkey, Antalya & Kemer Turkey, a country that occupies a unique geographic position, lying partly in Asia and partly in Europe. Throughout its history it has acted as both a barrier and a bridge between the two continents. Turkey is larger than some European travel countries such as Italy, France, Germany also the UK. Turkey offers a wealth of destination varieties to travellers: from dome-and-minaret filled skyline of Istanbul to Roman ruins along the western and southern coasts, from heavily indendated coastline against a mountainous backdrop of Lycia and wide and sunny beaches of Pamphylia to cold and snowy mountains of the East, from crazy "foam parties" of Bodrum to Middle Eastern- flavoured cities of Southeastern Anatolia, from verdant misty mountains of Eastern Black Sea to wide steppe landscapes of Central Anatolia, there is something for everyone's taste.
