DESERT STAGES THEATRE SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA ACTOR'S CAFE THEATRE PRODUCTION OF JAKE'S WOMEN By Neil Simon Directed by Janis Webb Jake’s Women is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
WELCOME Welcome to Desert Stages Theatre, and thank you for joining us at this performance of Neil Simon's JAKE'S WOMEN! We applaud Janis Webb, JP Clemente, Walt Pedano, and the entire cast and production team of this show for their "stick-to-itiveness" in bringing this show to the Actor's Cafe stage. Since rehearsals for JAKE'S WOMEN originally began in 2019, members of the original cast and crew and sub- sequent iterations have overcome a multitude of obstacles, including a pandemic, other health challenges, and scheduling conflicts. This team has believed in and modeled the old theatre adage "The show must go on" for more than two years, and we are very grateful. Victory is repre- sented here on this stage today/tonight. DST still has COVID-19 safety protocols in place to keep you, our ac- tors, and our staff safe, especially during the recent surge in the number of cases. Please wear your mask the entire time you are in the theatre. If you wish to meet with your friends or castmembers after the show, please arrange to do so in the food court area of the mall, so the lobby doesn't get congested. There will be no gathering inside the DST lobby. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! Thank you again for your support of live theatre and for your attendance at this production. Whether you are seeing your 100th show or your first at DST, you are a valued member of the Desert Stages Theatre commu- nity, and we appreciate you more than you could ever know! Ellen Versen Walt Versen Executive Director Artistic Director
DIRECTOR'S LETTER On Friday, March 13, 2020, we opened Jake’s Women to a small but mighty audience, and on Sunday March 15, we closed. 2020 had other plans for us, actors and audience alike. And now, al- most 2 years later, we proudly bring you Jake’s Women, round two! Four of the original eight cast members have returned (including the amazingly talented Walt Pedano) and we have added four new members. What a journey this has been! It is my hope that you, dear audience members, will enjoy Mr. Si- mon’s autobiographical play that is full of humor, hope and new be- ginnings … just like 2022 is! Thank you for supporting live theater! Janis Webb Director
