Bridging God’s prophe- cies of a Messiah and Savior in the Hebrew Scriptures with Christ’s Revela- on in the New Testament, Isaiah has influenced our Catholic theology, litur- gy, sacred music, art, prayer, and all aspects of our church. Isaiah was an extraordinary prophet and man of God, and his message of condemna on, repentance, and comfort a er judgement form the basis of this luminous drama of salva on history as seen through the eyes of an amazing theologi- an and poet. We will discover why our liturgical calendar is rich with read- ings from Isaiah throughout the en re year. Our study format will be class- room style and we will be reading from the texts each week, followed by analysis and interpreta on using resource material from a number of Catho- lic study guides.
