Director’s Notes When the first four notes are played, we are instantly transported back to the black and white television show of The Addams Family, and then we snap twice. We took the journey along with this family’s “creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky” way of life without a moment’s hesitation. And resurrecting these wonderful characters into a musical can only take it to another “altogether ooky” level! Though the story is a simple one, we quickly discover that even the ‘strangest’ of families have the same joys, sorrows and fears that we all have. The Addams Family finds ways to overcome their challenges and work with what they have... like all of us, yes? The message is clear: Don’t be afraid to be different! Stay true to Rayme Sciaroni yourself! Follow your heart at all costs! Don’t go into a dark basement Director alone! But mostly, “Love wins the day!” (With the Addams’, it’s more like: “Love wins the night!”) “So, put a witches shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on, you’re gonna pay a call on The Addams Family.” SNAP!
