A new year; a new decade and what lies ahead? You tend to think at such times “what if?” and “if only” and such queries apply to our theatre. “What if” the roof hadn’t given way in the 1980’s and, because of the amazing success of The Phoenix since those days we may be forgiven for thinking “if only” it hadn’t happened earlier where would we be now. However, we can’t complain, we could hardly be in a better position to start the new decade than we are right now. The success, of course, is down to our regular, loyal support. Without you, our patrons, there’d be no point, so once again, sincere and heartfelt thanks. I hope the new programme contains something for you and, as usual, I look forward to extending a warm welcome to you all. A happy and prosperous new year to us all.
