Registration Dates & Cost Register at the Boy Scout Service Center by April 1, 2021! Prices on or before April 1, 2021: $40 for one Scout and adult partner $20 for each additional Scout or sibling $10 for each additional adult Cost includes a Patch for each scout and 4 Meals. Additional patches can be purchased for $5. Prices go up on or before April 2, 2021 through April 19, 2021: $60 for one Scout and adult partner $30 for each additional Scout or sibling $15 for each additional adult A patch cannot be guaranteed for late registration. Prices go up on or before April 20, 2021 through April 23, 2021: $80 for one Scout and adult partner $40 for each additional Scout or sibling $20 for each additional adult A patch cannot be guaranteed for late registration. 4
Information Guide Check-In Check in begins at 4pm on Friday. No earlier! Please remember that all of our staff and Boy Scouts are VOLUNTEERS! Please be patient as we work to get you checked in as quickly as possible. All participants will park at the top of Camp Perkins and must check in at the Dining Hall. Participants will be directed to the area they are camping in at check in. Once checked in, participants will be able to load their gear onto a trailer that will bring your supplies down to your camping area. There will be NO parking anywhere past the gate near the dining hall. Unit trailers may be dropped off at camp Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 9am to 8pm or Friday, April 23, 2021 morning 9am to 3pm. All trailers must be dropped off BEFORE check-in opens for camp. BSA Medical Forms must be turned in at check in. NO ONE can participate without a BSA medical form. NO EXCEPTIONS! Camp staff encourages the units to turn in one binder/folder with all BSA A&B medical forms for all participants at time of registration. Please put Unit # on Med Forms. Also, please turn in registrations for Cub N Pal all together as a Pack if possible. 5
Events We will be digging into the world of Pokémon and Pokémon Go with some of our favorites activities. Cubs will participate in shooting sports, games, crafts, science, poké battles, and more. Meals Meals will be provided by the camp volunteers and are reflected in your cost. Meals must be paid for by every adult and youth in attendance at camp. If you have any special dietary needs, please indicate them on the registration form. Check-Out Procedures Please stay for the Sunday morning non-denominational service. Participation can be added to your Duty to God. We will have a World Fellowship Fund collection. Check out will be no later than 11:00 am Sunday. This will allow for our staff to finish clean-ups and return home quickly. Please leave your camp site in LEAVE-NO-TRACE Condition! Trash must be taken up the hill and deposited in the dumpster past the dining hall. Fire rings, if used, must be returned to their designated site. Please return all gathered firewood to the designated area as well. An adult leader from each Pack and Troop must pick up the unit’s medical forms at the medic office prior to leaving camp. Camp Patches will be distributed to Unit Leaders upon check out, unless otherwise stated. Additional Important Information NO vehicles will be allowed to drive in camp. All parking will be near the Dining Hall. A trailer will be available to help families get their gear to/from their campsites. Trailers can be picked up after 9:30am on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Volunteers will be in the area to assist with parking and, as needed, expedite loading/unloading of camp gear. In the event of rain or wet weather, bring a tarp on which to set your gear while you park. There will be absolutely NO smoking or vaping allowed at cub ‘n’ pal. If you violate this directive, you may be asked to leave. The Trading Post will be available on Saturday 7
Fire If your unit/pack is planning to use fire for any reason at their campsite, please follow these guidelines. NEVER leave a fire unattended. Burn ban information will be posted on the Council’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NWTCbsa Be prepared for various levels of burn ban at camp. Burn bans may include (but are not limited to): o No wood fires at all (propane stoves OK) o Elevated and covered wood fires o Elevated wood fires Each Pack should bring an elevated fire pit if ground fire rings are banned. Each Pack should bring adequate firewood for the duration of the camp. Do not collect fire wood or other than kindling from the forest at Camp Perkins. Do not dig holes for fires! Do not cut any standing wood. Follow LNT guidelines. Individual Equipment Closed-toe shoes ONLY Cub Scout 6 Essentials Tent w/Rain Cover, Stakes, and Ground Cloth/Tarp RECOMMENDED: Thick tarp to prevent stickers from penetrating your tent floor Sleeping Gear: sleep bag, foam pad, or bed roll Mess kit: If needed at your campsite-check with your Den/Unit leaders Toiletries – Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Comb/Brush, Deodorant, Towel, Sunscreen, insect repellent, towel & washcloth Rain gear Flashlight Folding Chair First Aid Kit Extra clothes, facemasks, and shoes 8
Pack Equipment CLEAN-UP EQUIPMENT - Biodegradable soap, sanitizing agent such as bleach, scouring pads, trash can liners, sponges, and dish pans x3 (if cooking). GROUP EXTRAS - Water jugs, coolers, Pack flag, American flag, tables, dining-fly, etc. Weather Cub N Pal will not be cancelled unless the weather is expected to be severe. We will try to keep all participants informed in as timely a manner as possible via the Council web site, texts, and emails. Please be prepared for inclement weather conditions and keep an eye on the forecasted weather. Camp leaders will maintain contact with the National Weather Service if severe weather threatens camp and appropriate steps will be taken to ensure everyone’s safety. A briefing on Severe Weather Procedures will be given during the Leaders Meeting on Friday night. Refunds There will be no refunds made for bad weather. Your registration will automatically roll-over to the next Cub N Pal. Refunds are only made for severe illness or a family death and on a case-by-case basis. Saturday Evening Campfire All units are asked to do a song or skit. Please have these turned in to one of the staff volunteers for camp by 5 pm Saturday. Also, please make sure that these are Cub Scout appropriate. Trading Post The Trading Post will be open from 12pm-8pm Saturday only. Handicapped and Special Needs Please make any special arrangements with the Council before Cub ‘n’ Pal. There will be NO ATVs/UTVs allowed. 9
Medications Any medications that require refrigeration may be kept at the Medic's office. All such medications must be in the original container and be plainly labeled with name and Pack number. Please remember to pick up on Sunday before you leave. Miscellaneous Closed toe shoes are required due to grass burs, insects, etc. NO alcohol allowed anywhere at Camp Perkins Smoking/Vaping is allowed in your vehicle ONLY. Absolutely NO smoking/vaping will be allowed on camp grounds at all. Scouts should leave cell phones and electronic devices in camp or vehicles. Cell service is spotty in camp. In an emergency contact Camp Director or Ranger via the radios/volunteers at each activity station. Label ALL personal items with name and/or Pack #. Please observe the Quit Time after 10 pm. Sound carries very well in camp, and we ask that all participants are courteous to their fellow campers. If you would like a screen printed shirt, you may bring them to camp. Shirts will be dropped off at check-in on Friday. You will have a chance to dye your shirt your team color on Saturday. Camp Schedules will be emailed no later than the week of camp and additional copies will be made available during the weekend. Adults and Youth have their own bathrooms. Adults may NOT go into the youth bathroom. Please remind your youth that the bathrooms are included in the Leave No Trace & should be treated respectfully. 10
NWTC Camping Rules & Regulations ALL SCOUTS AND VISITORS ARE TO BEHAVE IN SCOUT-LIKE MANNER Camping Only registered campers are permitted after 10 p.m. The NWTC is NOT responsible for any loss or damage to personal property Remove all personal property and put your trash in dumpster. Follow LNT rules. What you bring in, you bring out or dump in the dumpster. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. During this time please refrain from any loud activities or noises. If a neighbor camper is disturbing you, please bring it to the Attention of Camp Ranger or Staff Member. Use of fireworks or other explosives are prohibited (Violators will be removed from Camp IMMEDIATELY) The possession and/or consumption of alcohol beverages are prohibited (Violators will be removed from Camp IMMEDIATELY). Use of tobacco, cigarettes, or vapors are prohibited on/or at any scouting event or on scout property. Leave No Trace (LNT) Keep your site clean of all litter and waste. Use toilets properly, Do NOT throw garbage, litter, or other foreign substances in toilets and plumbing fixtures. Campfire Safety ** BURN BAN MAY BE IN EFFECT ** Build fires ONLY in fire rings provided for the purpose, NO DIGGING HOLES. Firewood must be small enough to fit inside the fire ring. Fire rings are the property of The NWTC and therefore, modifications to them is strictly prohibited. Do NOT put cans, bottles, plastic, food or rocks in fire rings. 11
Do NOT start campfires with gasoline or camping fuel. Keep flammable materials away from campfires. DO NOT LEAVE CAMPFIRE UNATTENDED Operation of Vehicles VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN CAMP AREA OTHER THAN RANGER APPROVED Please proceed with caution when operating any motor vehicle within camp grounds. Park only in marked parking areas. Violators may be towed at the expense of the owner. For the safety of all participants, do NOT block, restrict, or interfere with the use of roads or trails. No one is allowed to ride in the bed of a pickup. Follow Safe Guide to Scouting at all times. If vehicles are left in the camp site, you will be asked to move it. NO vehicles will be left in the campsites/camp. ATV-All Terrain Vehicles Personal ATV are NOT allowed at this event or on Scout property. It is a liability risk to the Council. According to “Safe Guide to Scouting”, ATV are for Approved Council use only. No Unit can use ATV as a unit, and not age appropriate for Cub Scouts. If you bring your own ATV you will be asked to take it home immediately. Property Do not carve, chop, cut, or damage any trees. Follow LNT guidelines. Preserve and protect your camp. Leave natural areas the way you find them. Building, structures, or enclosed areas in camp may be entered only when expressly opened to the public. This is especially true of the areas designated for BB guns and Archery. BSA National Guidelines require a trained professional to be present at all times when youth are 12
present on shooting ranges. Violators may be asked to leave the area and not be allowed to participate in those events. Handicap Accessibility If you are handicapped or have other difficulties that may prevent you from participating, please let us know so we may help in making this event attainable to participate in. Check-Out CHECK-OUT IS NO LATER THAN 11:00 ON SUNDAY. Ranger, Volunteers, and Staff work very hard to keep amp Perkins clean and beautiful for our use. Each unit/pack is responsible for following the leave no trace guidelines. The cub master or representative will turn in survey’s and notify the camp director when the unit is ready to check out. Once the unit is cleared, you are free to leave. Place fire rings on the concrete pad north of the main road running through camp if your unit/pack used one. Take trash to dumpster by the dining hall. Registration forms will be shredded and medical forms in pack binder/folder will be returned to your leader at the end of camp. 13
