HISTORIC MOUNTAIN LODGE ACCOMMODATION THE ORIGINAL MOUNTAIN LODGES ARE BUILT FROM HAND-CUT TALLOW WOOD SLABS AND HAVE A CHARM AND CHARACTER ALL THEIR OWN. Binna Burra Mountain Lodge provides two styles of rooms: • Acacia Rooms offer views of either the Numinbah Valley or the surrounding rainforest. They include an en suite and balcony. Choose from double, twin or larger family rooms • Casuarina Rooms are heritage-listed guesthouse-style rooms, nestled amidst the native gardens. SKY LODGES SKY LODGES ARE BINNA BURRA’S MOST EXCLUSIVE ACCOMMODATION, SPACIOUS APARTMENTS & STUDIOS OFFERING A STYLISH CONTEMPORARY ALTERNATIVE TO BINNA BURRA’S TRADITIONAL LODGES. Perched on the side of a mountain with stunning north-facing views across the Coomera and Numinbah Valleys, the Sky Lodges are fully self-contained and have been finished to the highest of standards. The spacious one, two and three-bedroom Sky Lodges all feature private balconies, cosy lounge rooms with gas fireplaces, leather couches, local photography on the walls and use local timber, stone and copper. The Sky Lodges also feature flat screen televisions, BBQs and laundry facilities. The views are spectacular and even the spa bath has an uninterrupted view over the valley. The Sky Lodges are located close to the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge and guests can either self-cater or take meals in the Clifftop Dining Room. Guests can book into Binna Burra’s many guided activities, or may prefer to relax in front of the fire with a book. CAMPING SURROUNDED BY RAINFOREST, BINNA BURRA CAMPSITE HAS PERMANENT SAFARI-STYLE TENTS, DRIVE-ON SITES, OR YOU CAN PITCH YOUR OWN. This secluded site is set high on the range, and provides rainforest camping with easy access to the wide range of walks available. Safari Tents for up to 6 people have private verandas and are furnished with beds, table & chairs and lighting. Tent and drive-on sites are positioned within the shady forest canopy. GROOMS COTTAGE & BUNKHOUSE AMIDST PRISTINE RAINFOREST, PROLIFIC WILDLIFE AND CRISP CLEAN MOUNTAIN AIR, GROOMS COTTAGE OFFERS MUCH MORE THAN JUST A NATURE EXCURSION! This rustic timber cottage has an adjacent four- room bunkhouse which is the perfect facility for large families, university & school groups. The bunkhouse rooms are basic and just a stone’s throw away you’ll find showers and toilets, gas barbeque, plate wash-up area, coin operated laundry facilities. Accommodation at the cottage itself comprises seven single beds and one double bed in two upstairs rooms. Downstairs is equipped with facilities including fridge-freezer, stove, microwave and wood-burner. Adjacent to the Grooms Cottage are a series of four connected cabins with bunkhouse style accommodation. Each cabin has nine beds with foam mattresses, consisting of three sets of triple bunks. DINING HEARTY COUNTRY-STYLE MEALS ARE SERVED IN THE CLIFFTOP DINING ROOM, WITH SWEEPING VIEWS OF THE COOMERA VALLEY. COMMUNAL SEATING PROVIDES A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO MEET FELLOW GUESTS, OR TABLES FOR TWO CAN BE RESERVED. A short walk away is the Lamington Teahouse offering spectacular valley and coast views, complemented by modern café-style cuisine. BUSH WALKING AND ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES BINNA BURRA HAS A LONG HISTORY OF PROVIDING A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN. Guests can enjoy our daily guided activities program or be thrilled by one of our more exciting challenges, such as the 10m, 40m and 90m abseil, the 165m Flying Fox, or Archery. Join a guided rainforest walk with one of our experienced eco-guides, or escape on your own with more than 160km of walking tracks, and discover this world-heritage wilderness. The tracks are well-graded and vary from easy walks of a few hundred metres to the 56km Great Walk. ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS Our younger guests are not forgotten with our activities and facilities at both the Lodge and the Campsite. Bush walks, picnics and other rainforest adventures are the reasons why kids want to keep coming back. We also host Archery and Flying Fox for kids, and in the evenings there are Campfire nights with marshmallows, and Spotlight Walks to discover our nocturnal animals. The Echidna Club is our kids club hosted by our experienced eco-guides, your kids can enjoy activities such as archery, bush craft and more. Designed for 6-12 year olds, our daily activities and adventures will keep the kids entertained while you enjoy a well- deserved break. The Echidna Club runs during the Queensland school holidays: 9am - 3pm. Our Adventure Playground is based at the Lodge, and is an exciting, educational and natural playground. Kids learn about the environment with interpretative signage, whilst having physical fun manoevering their way around the ‘nutrients’ maze. CONFERENCES, WEDDINGS AND EVENTS BINNA BURRA CATERS FOR CONFERENCES, WEDDINGS, SCHOOLS AND EVENTS, AND SPECIALISES IN TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES. A variety of accommodation styles suits all budgets, making Binna Burra a unique venue. Conference groups can choose from the cosy Mountain Lodge or the more luxurious Sky Lodges, with a choice of meeting rooms. For school groups or families, the picturesque ‘Groom’s Cottage’ was once home to Binna Burra co-founder Arthur Groom. HISTORY ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S LONGEST-ESTABLISHED NATURE- BASED RESORTS, BINNA BURRA LODGE WAS FOUNDED IN 1933 BY ARTHUR GROOM AND ROMEO LAHEY. THESE TWO PIONEERING CONSERVATIONISTS SHARED A VISION TO CREATE A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE COULD STAY AND EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF THE LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK RAINFOREST. THROUGH INTERPRETIVE WALKS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, THEY BELIEVED MORE PEOPLE WOULD BECOME COMMITTED TO PRESERVING THIS NATURAL WILDERNESS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. In the early 1930s, they purchased the Burra by packhorse, to serve as the last freehold title on the boundary dining and recreation room.
