Lets Get Lippy! Get Lippy. Save lives. By joining Get Lippy 2021 this May in aid of The Eve Appeal you will be helping to raise essential funds for our life-saving research, raise awareness of gynae cancer signs and symptoms and keep our vital nurse-led information service, Ask Eve, running for the people and families that need us. You will be saving lives. For too long gynaecological health has been shrouded with shame, seen as just ‘women’s issues’ and been dismissed and hushed through the generations. We want everyone to join us this May and Get Lippy to break down the taboos around gynae health. We want you to Get Lippy so that everyone knows the symptoms of the five gynae cancers and to help us be there for anyone affected and the people who love them. This May we are uniting the beauty and liefstyle brands to break down taboos around gynaecological health – this is how you can join us and Get Lippy.
What our partners say “Beauty brands are a powerful force for change and can be a force for good. Working at the forefront of the industry and helping drive a powerful and collaborative campaign that raises funds and awareness is right at the heart of what we value at CEW. “The Get Lippy campaign is challenging the taboos that surround gynaecological health and making a real difference in getting information out to an audience who want to look after their wellbeing but need to have better information about why. For me the beauty of giving has always been high on the agenda of the beauty industry. Long may it continue to be.” Caroline Neville, MBE, President of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) and Get Lippy Patron Lead campaign partners:
Why you should Get Lippy By Getting Lippy you will help to: • Smash taboos and encourage open conversations around gynaecological health • Raise awareness of signs and symptoms of the five gynae cancers to save lives • Raise funds for our life-saving research and our cancer information service, Ask Eve – a specialist nurse service that provides information to all who are concerned about signs, symptoms and risk factors around gynae cancers.
Dr Anita Mitra, Gynae Surgeon, is worried about the impacts on fundraising during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Ask Eve “The Ask Eve service is arguably one of The Eve Appeal’s most valuable asset, run by Tracie, a very experienced specialist NHS Gynae cancer nurse & Karen who is perhaps the most supportive, yet knowledgable cancer survivor one could hope to pick up the phone & I'm grateful to them for continuing to supporting my patients through what is understandably an anxious time. “In the ongoing crisis, having access to trustworthy remote support & advice becomes even more crucial as the NHS is catching up from the impact of Covid-19 on cancer services. Patient anxiety continues to be heightened and I know I speak for many NHS colleagues who truly believe that the Ask Eve service will provide essential help & support during these uncertain times.”
