Classic Vibrations March 2021 Edition Busso Midweek Ride Report Busselton Mob Mid Week Ride : 20 Jan 2021 10th February 2021 Our usual ride leader turned up on his Our rst Mid-Week ride post the ve day scooter wearing bright yellow (or was it Covid lockdown - 24 bikes from Busselton orange) shorts, we decided we did not want and a similar number from Bunbury – about to ride with him looking like that! Not 50 all up. And to add to the excitement, the really, his excuse was it was his wife’s combined mob just happened to come across birthday and he had to take her out to lunch the new Tortoise Mob on course to the same and wasn’t game to tell her it was ride destination. So, we had a tad of road day!!!!??? I know the feeling! So, I put my confusion with fast/slow bikes and hand up to lead, and Phil volunteered for duplicated corner markers. Hmmm!! …… back-up I think we need to re ect on this and avoid the riding culture clash in future. It was a very nice day for a bike ride with 22 bikes turning up. John had set a course for The Busso Mob route included a sweep of us to Witchcliffe with not so many corners, Capel to pick up Clive Cooper, then to as last ride there was a lot and he thought we Boyanup to join up with the Bunbury Mob. were still a bit dizzy from that ride The combined Mobs then enjoyed some great back-roads to Donnybrook and again We headed off West down Bussell Bypass more backroads to the coffee/pie destination; into Queen Elizabeth, Payne Rd, Jindong Balingup. The large pack of riders did Treeton Rd, Rosa Brook Rd, Rosa Glen Rd, trigger a bit of café proprietor anxiety as we Davis Rd to Witchcliffe stopping at Cookies took over the two outlets and the town Galore Cafe for morning tea, where we had our usual coffee and pies, very quick and Thanks to Phil Bussanich for acting as the good service, seeing Witchcliffe was packed, TEC for the ride. Our next ride will be a I have never seen Witchcliffe so busy, there mystery job, new roads and a new was very few parking spots left in the town destination After morning tea, the ride split in all .John Lewi directions with some head down to Augusta Busselton Group Liaison Of cer for a bit longer ride A good ride was had by all Holland Track Hyden to Coolgardie Peter Whiteside Side valves to follow Holland track Hyden to Coolgardie March 22nd to 26th 202 Rough bush camping, self suf cient, self catered, people to team up to limit back up vehicles following Strictly side valve bikes onl Contact Steve Turner 0477 880814 Indian Harley Club (Bunbury) Inc Page 7 fi . . n . . fl 1 . y fi fi . fi . .

Classic Vibrations March 2021 Edition Busselton Mob Mid Week Ride : 17th February 2021 Secretary Wanted Urgently A record breaking turnout (on my watch) Unfortunately our club secretary, Mr John with 35 riders all revved up and ready to go Keenan, has had to resign at short notice. on our longest ride yet. The weather; very We need someone to take over this important close to perfect – well maybe just a tad hot role ASAP, as the club cannot function towards the end of the ride without a secretary. If you are unable to help, please ask your husband, wife, partner The Busselton Mob was joined by Bunbury or best friend if they would be able to do it. members at both Capel and Donnybrook. Many thanks After our rst morning tea break, the route to Wellington Dam was via Donnybrook/ The Editor Boyanup Brook Road, Ferguson Road, Wellington Mill Road, the new Wellington Forrest Road, Pile Road and nally Falcon Road. Some great twisty stuff. A brief stop to check out the dam and then off to Collie, under John & Tracy’s guidance, for our second tea/coffee break Most riders took the return journey via Mungalup Road, a great piece of bitumen spoilt by some seemingly unnecessary speed restrictions (my opinion) Thanks to Phil Bussanich for being our TEC. An important role but not without risks, apparently. I heard Phil was attacked on the home stretch, somewhere near Dardanup. A bee took exception to him for some reason VALENTINES DAY RUN and got stuck into his neck, forcing Phil to stop and apply rst-aid John Lewi Busselton Group Liaison Of cer Indian Harley Club (Bunbury) Inc Page 10 n fi . fi . . . . fi fi

As always it is the volunteers who make it great and your donations of time, goods or money are what make it such a great value weekend of riding. In the past we have enjoyed the great pre-prepared meals brought in by many of you and your friends and family. This year the rules have changed and all meals will be prepared on- site by Covid approved methods. Donations of your time, goods or money are still very welcome, just slightly different. As members of the host club, we all share the responsibility to ensure our guests are safe. This means we should all encourage compliance with the social distancing and hygiene rules as will be displayed on-site and announced regularly on the PA. Indian Harley Club (Bunbury) Inc Page 13
Classic Vibrations March 2021 Edition 2. C4C and 404: The new Concessions For Classics (C4C) Scheme will become law on 16 April 2021. This will allow modified vehicles greater access to legal road use and is separate to the Code 404 Concession scheme we use. Due largely to successful lobbying by the CMC and member clubs, the proposed changes to the 404 scheme are now on hold for a further 12 months so there should be ample time for consultation and negotiation. We are attending the relevant CMC meetings and will be ensuring that any and all concerns we have are presented. 3. Kitchen Renovation: The renovation of the BMC Clubrooms Kitchen is progressing ahead of schedule and barring any disasters, should be ready for our Two Day Rally.
