* Call to Worship/Responsive Sentence From Psalm 138

   One: I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your
        praise
   All: I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for
        your steadfast love and your faithfulness
   One: On the day I called, you answered me, you increased my strength of soul
   All: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me against the
        wrath of my enemies.
   One: You stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me
   All: God will fulfill God’s purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, en-
        dures forever.

* Invocation and Lord’s Prayer
       We come to you in prayer as one who seeks sustenance for the journey.
       Nurture us by your presence, teach us by your word, enable us by your Spir-
       it, that we may walk in the ways of the one who taught us to pray …Our Fa-
       ther, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be
       done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and for-
       give us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
       but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glo-
       ry forever. Amen.

                                                                3
Solo                             Our World
                                 Francie Robu

                      We're closer now than ever before
                          There's love in our world
                         And we're showing it more
                     Our world says, "Welcome, stranger;
                            Everybody's a friend.
                          Favorite stories don't end
                                In our world."

                    Some say our world is getting too small;
                            I say, with kindness,
                           There's room for us all.
                       Our world is always changing;
                           Every day's a surprise.
                          Love can open your eyes
                                In our world.

                        When night lays sad upon you,
                         Go watch a simple sunrise.
                         Love can open your eyes.
                                In our world

Musical Guests
Frequently performing under the band name “The Misguided Professors,” the Crouse-
Dick husband-wife team acknowledges that their relationship began based on a mutu-
al love of music and of singing together. In his day job, Dr. Christopher Dick serves as
Professor of English at Tabor College, where he teaches courses in literature, gram-
mar, and composition. Dr. Christine Crouse-Dick serves as Professor of Communica-
tion Arts at Bethel College, where she teaches courses focused on communication
strategies; gender, race, class, and media; and theory and research methods. While
they have not yet convinced their seven-year-old son Johann to sing with them, they
are hopeful that someday he will join them on stage if not in the analysis of literary
and popular culture texts.

                           The Plymouth Covenant
Believing in Jesus Christ, the Interpreter of God to humankind, we accept His
 teachings as the guiding principles of our lives and consecrate ourselves and
our church to their fulfillment. We therefore join in covenant, one with anoth-
   er, to worship, work, and serve together that we may express through our
   Church and our individual lives the love and faith taught by Jesus Christ.
