ASCE

During the month of February, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has been working to expand our
executive board to include a new freshman class representative and nationals liaison. ASCE plans to hold a
general body meeting within the next few weeks for members to attend and increase involvement in the club.
We are also excited to announce our Civil and Environmental Engineering apparel sale in which our members
can rep CEE! During the month of March ASCE held a junior specific class event with details about capstone and
what it entails. Other events coming up in March include a presentation regarding a geotechnical engineering
project in Washington D.C. and an information session about getting an internship in the engineering field with
the career center. We are also planning to be involved in advocacy week to promote sustainability on campus.
These events are open to all engineering students and ASCE members. All of these details are communicated to
our members through the ASCE weekly email as well as the ASCE GroupMe that many of our members have
easy access to. For more updates and information: follow ASCE on Instagram @villanovaasce, join our VUGroups
page or email us at asce.villanova@gmail.com.

1. Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Visit on March 18!
2. Volunteers needed for a Robotics/Automation conference
in May!
Email asmevillanova2@gmail.com if interested in either
event.
Amateur Radio Club

In the past month, the Amateur Radio Club has done some work in
further training with its members in radio operating using Winter
Field Day. Following this, the club has attempted to catch some
schools' amateur radio organizations in a "school roundup" event.
However, radio traffic seems to have gotten the best of our operators.
Nevertheless, we will press on to catch more contacts in future
events.
CubeSat

The CubeSat Club has been quite busy! We are gearing up to
launch a weather balloon the week of March 14th, which will be
live-streamed on our Instagram @villanova_cubesatclub. Our
payload contains various sensors including pressure, pollution,
and humidity. However, we are also including a few cameras to
capture its journey. We've been doing a lot to prepare, including
upgrading and fixing our Satnogs ground station to help record
the flight.
ESC

ESC is the engineering student council on campus. We are
excited to plan and host more events for all engineering
and non-engineering students during this semester.
Recently, we celebrated E-Week during midterms,
hosting a quizzo and giving out free Play-doh and cookies.

IEEE

IEEE is proud to announce that we kicked off our annual Sumobot competition on Friday,
March 10th. Each team is going through the process of constructing and programming a
robot. At the end of the competition, each robot will go head-to-head until one is crowned
champion! We also just had an event with L3Harris in which we discussed the INNOVATE
summer program. Two students who previously did INNOVATE (Jacob Janavel and Matt
Voloshin) kindly answered some of our questions about the program. Looking further into
the semester, we will be having a GitHub / Visual Studio Code workshop. It is open to
students of all disciplines interested in collaborative programming engineering or
otherwise. We hope to see you there! If you are interested in joining our team, please sign
up through VUGroups, follow @villanovaieee on Instagram, and email ieee@villanova.edu
with any questions you may have. IEEE wishes you all the best of luck with the rest of the
semester!

transportation. If you are interested in joining or in having an officer
position, please contact: nkwak1@villanova.edu.
NovaCANE

NovaCANE had their first in person trip of the semester before break and it went
off successfully. We built domes out of gumdrops and toothpicks while teaching
students about civil and structural engineering! We plan to try to transition to all
in-person for the rest of the semester and are excited to work with our students
to continue their learning! We have also made more progress on our club
website and hope to launch it soon. We also plan to run some club bonding
events in the near future!
As always, email vunovacane@gmail.com if you are interested in joining our
organization and volunteering!
NOVA Racing

The NovaRacing Team is hard at work once again - working on
engine mechanics and startup for VU13. Subsystems are making
final touches in time for the first drive on Sunday, 3/13. The first
drive will bring the team one step closer to testing!
Troubleshooting and learning in these stages are crucial for the
team’s continued success for future designs and models!
NSBE

On February 26th, NovaNSBE had the pleasure of attending our annual
Region 2 Zone Summit at Howard University! The zone summit is an
opportunity for regional NSBE chapters to get to know one another and do
a series of fun workshops catered to NSBE’s mission. We made the 2 ½
hour drive to D.C. where we met with NSBE chapters from Penn State,
University of Virginia, West Virginia University, and University of South
Carolina! Also as of March 10th, we have restarted our NSBE Study
Sessions where everyone is welcome to come do work, socialize, and meet
other STEM students on campus. Study Sessions occur on Thursdays in
White Hall 216 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. We also have a lot planned for the rest
of the semester. If you are interested in joining NSBE or learning more
about us or events we have planned, please email our membership chair,
Kojo, at kmarfosa@villanova.edu.
NSPE

NSPE just finished its first event "Order of the Engineer" in
which we welcome roughly about 22 members into the Order
of the Engineer. Now, we're looking ahead to our next event FE
Forum. Any questions or concerns, please contact Diego at
dadames@villanova.edu
Omega Chi Epsilon

Omega Chi Epsilon (OXE) is the Chemical Engineering Honors Society, which is a
club for all Chemical Engineers with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The first event for
OXE is the induction ceremony for new members of OXE (either sophomores
who got a 3.5 freshman year or upperclassmen who increased their GPA). This
ceremony just rewards them for their academic success. The main events for
OXE are study sessions for each grade for tests and projects in the main
Chemical Engineering courses. These study sessions are open to all Chemical
Engineers and members of OXE must go to 2 or more of their grade's study
sessions to remain in OXE. This society focuses on promoting academic success
and helping students do as well as possible in their courses.
PEERS

This past month, the CEER PEERS moved to our new office in CEER 309A, about
halfway down the hallway on your left if you took the elevator to the third floor,
to the right if you took the stairs. It's been lonely up here without the bustle of
the CEER main lobby, so please swing by to say high, or if you need any help! On
March 20th, we will be hosting our semesterly ice cream social/registration
advising event in Driscoll 134 from 2-4. Please swing by to get advice on which
professors you should take, help with scheduling, or just to enjoy some free ice
cream and good company!
Pi Tau Sigma

Villanova’s Pi Tau Sigma is an organization of mechanical engineering
upperclassmen that tutor younger mechanical engineering students. We
tutor a wide variety of courses ranging from Statics to Dynamics and
Heat Transfer. Our members are dedicated to helping fellow mechanical
