What Does this Mean?
Required Courses: Classes that are required for graduation as set by the state and/or

i.e. English, Math, Science, Phy Ed, etc.

enhance your education and focus on your interests/career aspirations (can be in core

i.e. Spanish, Choir, Art, Technology & Engineering, etc.
Prerequisites: Course need to take prior to electing this course. All classes with a
prerequisite are listed in the coursebook (noted with * on course selection sheet).
i.e. “Outdoor Power & Motorsports” requires “Small Engines” first.
Can register for the same year
Transcripted Credit: “Articulated Course” agreement with MPTC. Completion may earn
credits for corresponding class at MPTC.
Noted in Course Book and as “TC” in Skyward
Do I need to take Spanish?
UW System:

 - UW Madison: Two years of one foreign language required

 - UW Milwaukee, UW Parkside, UW Platteville: Foreign language is not required
but is strongly recommended. Foreign language credits earned in high school help satisfy the
school’s foreign language requirement for graduation.

 - UW La Crosse: Average applicant has three years of foreign language.

It ALWAYS depends on your career aspirations

Art Survey
                  Prerequisite for most art courses

• If you are interested in taking numerous art courses
throughout high school – we recommend taking Art
Survey as early as possible in your high school career so
that you do not get stuck with a lot of overlap in

in all art classes you are interested in taking over the
  course of 4 years.
