What’s New? The RLC will continue to offer hybrid education sessions for the following courses: 1. Gentle Persuasive Approaches 2. Safer Lifts and Transfers This means that the course will be split into two sessions, with the first part being virtual and the second part in-person! This will allow staff to practice the hands on skills associated with the above topics while minimizing the time spent in-person. In the event of inclement weather, all in-person sessions will be switched to an on-line session, or rescheduled for another day. New Courses The RLC is pleased to offer the following courses in partnership with Maximize Your Health, and Trillium Health Partners. Click below for more information. 1. Cultural Mindfulness 2. How to Talk about Incontinence with Your Clients 3. Catheter & Drainage Bag Care for PSWs 4. Falls Prevention Related to Incontinence REGIONAL LEARNING CENTRE 3
Frequently Asked Questions: Q: The course that I am registering for has more than one part. Do I need to register for each day? A: When you register for part one of a course, you are automatically enrolled in the other sessions as well (i.e. Compassion fatigue, GPA, Safer lifts and transfers, interRAI CHA). Q: Where do I go to register for a session? A: Every underlined course in the calendar is a clickable link. Click on part one of the course you would like to register for, and it will take you to Eventbrite, which is an on- line registration platform. If you are having trouble registering please email the RLC at info@regionallearningcentre.ca and someone will be happy to assist you. Q: Is there a cost for these sessions? A: If you are a staff member of an eligible agency, there is no charge for attending the sessions, with the exception of The Working Mind. This course has a fee because the Mental Health Commission of Canada charges the RLC to give participants their certifi- cates. Q: The time of some of the sessions in the calendar doesn’t work for me/ my orga- nization. Can we set up a session just for our organization? A: Yes! The RLC is happy to set up sessions for organizations at a custom time which meets your needs. We can also set up sessions for other courses that are not advertised in the calendar. To set up a custom session, we require at least 6-8 participants. Please reach out to us at info@regionallearningcentre.ca if this is of interest. REGIONAL LEARNING CENTRE 4
