The Policy
 framework
EUROPE 2020

 The challenge: a Europe with increasing (and unmet) skills needs

o By 2020, 35% of all jobs will require high-level qualifications (today: 29%)

o Only 32.3% of EU population have a Higher Education degree

 A European Response: Europe 2020 defines a strategy for “smart,
    sustainable and inclusive” growth
Europe 2020 education headline target: by 2020, 40% of young people should
successfully complete HE or equivalent studies

 Education Policies are at the heart of Europe 2020

                                                                         Date: in 12 pts
