             Camp Date 18th – 20th June 2021
    No booking will be accepted without a membership number.
 Please ensure you have read all the Information about camp before
                                  booking.

Camp is open to all BHS members. It is aimed at the everyday grassroots
rider up to the aspiring competition rider. We are able to cater for all levels of
rider, from the novice and nervous to advanced riders. Generally we attract
those looking to improve their confidence or their horses and those wanting to
jump up to 80cms(2’6”). The aim of camp is to cover all disciplines, we are
however able to offer a ground poles only option for those not wanting to
leave the ground.
You will enjoy 3 days and 2 nights in the wonderful setting of Chard
Equestrian. With everyone keen and ready to support each other, you will
thrive and progress with your horse over the weekend.
Our Coaches are all BHS qualified, and have been chosen specifically to
ensure you have a wonderful, safe and fun time with us at camp, they will
work with you in small groups and put you through your paces, bringing out
the best in you and your horse.
The BHS Somerset committee will have a representative and first aider on
site at all times.

Current indications relating to Covid-19 restrictions mean that our summer
camp will be able to go ahead, with dining halls (seated at tables of no more
than 6) and accommodation allowed to be open. Groups of up to 30 meeting
outdoors, this will mean that we will restrict numbers this year. The camp will
be run under Government Covid-19 Guidelines current at the time and any
further restrictions required by Chard Equestrian and/or BHS. At all times you
will be expected to follow the guidelines We reserve the right to alter and
amend the format to accommodate any additional measures.
Most importantly we want you to have fun and be safe.

The Cost of Camp is £270 per member. Payment details on Page 3.
Included is:
   •  Accommodation for two nights, located over 10 rooms within the upper
      tier of the clubhouse.
Those not wishing to book accommodation are permitted to sleep in tents,
caravans, trailers or lorries. Please let us know at time of booking.
   • A Stable for your horse including bedding (shavings) + 1 Additional
      Bale
   • 4 lessons of ridden tuition in groups of no more than 4, with BHS
      registered and qualified coaches. Camp starts before lunch on the
      Friday and guests are welcome to arrive from 10.30. We will have a
      meet your team session before lunch and then ride in the afternoon.
   • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Desserts are included in the price starting
      Friday lunchtime, finishing with tea and cakes on the Sunday
   • Tea, coffee and cold juice /water are also provided. Other drinks are
      available to purchase.

Camp Requirements
All horses/ponies must be aged 4 years or older &
hold a passport and have all vaccinations up to date.
To speed up the checking in process, please send a copy of your horses
passport showing vaccinations at least one month in advance of camp. BHS
Silver members will need to provide a copy of their insurance certificate with a
clear indication of public liability cover, BHS Gold Members will be covered
under the Insurance offered with the membership package.

It is your responsibility to ensure:-
1. Your riding hat conforms to current standard, BSEN 1384 marked hats
    must also contain one of the following standards PAS015, Snell or ASTM
    F1163. Fixed peak hats are not permitted on the XC course.
2. Body Protectors conform to Level 3 BETA 2009 or 2018 standards and
    must be worn for XC. You are encouraged to wear body protectors for
    showjumping, but it is not compulsory. If you choose to wear an air jacket,
    you will still have to wear your body protector on the XC course.

The Venue
The BHS Camp will be held at Chard Equestrian, White House Farm,
Cricket St Thomas TA20 4BP, just outside Chard in the beautiful Somerset
countryside, located close to the Dorset border. It has superb facilities; 3 All
weather surface arenas, including dressage arenas, 3 grass arenas, 2 full
sets of BSJA show jumps, Working hunter jumps, XC courses from 50cm –
1m, with new and improved fences, 100 internal stables in the main barns.
There are electric hook up points for lorries, if required. The clubhouse
houses the new restaurant/café, the shower block and toilets and a
comfortable seating area. As well as a bar and shop with the new
accommodation and lounge area upstairs.
Well behaved dogs who are familiar with horses are welcome onsite with
members, but must be kept on leads at all times and be cleaned up after. Any
dog found to be a nuisance will be required to leave the site. Dogs are not
permitted in the Club house.

You will need to bring:
Hay/haylage for your horse as well as hard feed.
Buckets for water and feed.
Mucking out and tidying up tools including, wheelbarrow and a broom
Tack (there is no lockable tack room we suggest it is stored in your car or lorry
when not in use)
Saddle stand – for outside the stable
Bedding, sheet, duvet and pillow
Towels and toiletries
Horse Passport, Hat/s and Body Protector - These will be checked on
arrival
Clothing for all weathers!
This is not a pony club camp, you are responsible for checking your own tack
is safe, secure, clean and fitted correctly. There will be many hands onsite to
assist and ask, if you need help, but the overall responsibility remains with
you.

Payment
If you do not wish to pay in full at time of booking, we are happy to accept a
deposit of £100 to secure your place. The balance will be due on or before the
7th May 2021.

Cancellation
Cancellation refunds are only issued on the production of a vet/doctor
certificate stating the horse/you will not be fit to work on the 17th April
(allowing time for fitness) No refunds are given for change of mind or
circumstances.
After 17th April a 50% refund will be issued
Cancellation on or after 21st May No refund will be issued.
In all cases where a refund is given there will be a £20 admin charge
deduction.
In the event that we as the organiser are forced to cancel due to national
restrictions, an alternative date will be sought, failing that refunds will be
issued minus the £20 administration fee.

Included in the cost is a dormitory bed Located in one of the 10 rooms,
upstairs in the clubhouse.
You need to bring your bedding (sheet, duvet & pillow)
You can provide your own accommodation, in the form of tent, horsebox or
caravan, Electric hook ups are available, but we are required to notify Chard
in advance.
You may arrange to stay locally in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Or return
home each evening. Please indicate your type of accommodation and if you
require access to an electric hook up.
