Day 1 – Saturday, 19 June 2021 Depart Brisbane – Arrive Alice Springs ˚ This morning you travel from the South Burnett by coach to Brisbane Domestic Airport for your Qantas flight to Alice Springs ˚ Upon arrival into Alice Springs your coach and driver will be waiting to greet you. You will then be taken to lunch at the Red Ochre Grill Restaurant. Your luggage will be dropped at your hotel during this time. ˚ In the afternoon you will visit the old Telegraph Station. This location marks the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs. It features the original buildings of stone which have been restored with house furnishings and artefacts from the early 1900’s ˚ Check in at Crowne Plaza Lasseters Hotel your accommodation during your stay in Alice Springs. ˚ Tonight, enjoy a three-course dinner with coffee at Tali restaurant located at Lasseters. Day 2 – Sunday, 20 June 2021 Alice Springs – West MacDonnell Ranges ˚ After breakfast, you will commence your tour to the West MacDonnell Ranges. The panoramic landscapes of the West MacDonnell Ranges are extraordinary for their immensity and array of sunburnt oranges, maroons and purples. View spectacular outback scenery and take photos of the magnificent Outback Country. ˚ You will stop at many historic locations along the way, including the historical Flynn’s Grave Memorial. Enjoy beautiful walks at both Simpson’s Gap and Standley Chasm. ˚ Enjoy a BBQ lunch at Standley Chasm before heading back to Alice Springs. ˚ On arrival back to Alice Springs, visit the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, home to the largest reptile display in Central Australia. You will be able to view an extensive range of reptiles including saltwater crocodiles, perentie goannas, thorny devils, frill-neck lizards and many other fascinating lizards from the Northern Territory. Overnight – Crowne Plaza Lasseters Hotel, Alice Springs Meal Inclusions – Breakfast, Morning Tea & BBQ Lunch Day 3 – Monday, 21 June 2021 Alice Springs – Ayers Rock ˚ Start your day with breakfast at your accommodation. ˚ This morning the group will see the sights of “The Alice” on the Town like Alice Tour. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service – see how medical aid reaches those who live in the remote ‘outback’. Learn how children who cannot access schools are educated by radio at the School of the Air. There may be an opportunity to listen to and observe actual lessons in progress on air. The tour concludes with a panoramic view of the township of Alice Springs and the MacDonnell Ranges from the top of Anzac Hill. ˚ Transfer to Alice Springs Airport for your Qantas flight to Ayers Rock. ˚ On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation at Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel. ˚ This evening you will be welcomed at an exclusive dune top just after the sun has set on the horizon. Savour a selection of outback canapés with sparkling wine or beer as your host provides insight into the light installation that awaits you. As darkness falls, 50000 glass spheres gently come to life. Covered under a sky brilliant with stars, Field of Light beckons you to explore and lose yourself momentarily in the rhythms of coloured light. ˚ On you return to the Desert Gardens Hotel, enjoy a three-course dinner with coffee at the Mangata Bistro. Day 4 – Tuesday, 22 June 2021 Ayers Rock Overnight Motel Accommodation in Dalwallingu ˚ For the early risers, enjoy the Uluru Sunrise Tour. This tour runs for 2 hours with tea/coffee provided. ˚ On return to the hotel you will have breakfast and collect any passengers who did not take up the sunrise viewing option. After breakfast, you will travel to Uluru where you will undertake the 4-Hour Base Walk Tour. You will also visit the Maruku Aboriginal Cultural Centre. For over 30 years, Maruku has operated as a not-for-profit art and craft corporation, owned and operated by Anangu. Approximately 900 Aboriginal artists belonging to over 20 remote communities across the Central and Western Deserts, make up the collective that is Maruku. ˚ This afternoon you will have time to participate in some of the free guest activities available at Voyages resort, or alternatively pre-book one of the optional extra activities (information below). ˚ Tonight, you will enjoy the amazing Sounds of Silence Dinner. Your Sounds of Silence experience begins with canapes and chilled sparkling wine served on a viewing platform overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As the sun set and darkness falls, listen to the sound of a didgeridoo and then join your table of fellow travellers for an unforgettable dining experience. ˚ Return to your accommodation. Overnight – Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel Meal Inclusions – Breakfast & Dinner Day 5– Wednesday, 23 June 2021 Ayers Rock to Brisbane Overnight Motel Accommodation in Busselton ˚ Full breakfast at your accommodation. ˚ This morning travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) enjoying panoramic views of the southern side before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. ˚ On your return to Voyages, you will have time to again participate in the free quest activities at the hotel, or pre-book an optional extra activity. ˚ Today’s two-course lunch with coffee will be at the Mangata Bistro at the Desert Gardens Hotel. ˚ Later in the afternoon, transfer to Ayers Rock Airport for your Qantas flight back to Brisbane. ˚ On arrival into Brisbane, you will be met for your return journey to the South Burnett with Pursers Coaches. Important Information: General Information/Health and Fitness There is no age limit or fitness standard required to participate in the Alice Springs & Ayers Rock Tour. In some destinations there are sightseeing excursions by foot. It is suggested that if you are elderly or have recently suffered a serious illness that you consult your doctor to see if you are fit to travel. Please be aware that a variety of temperatures may be encountered on the tour. Any disability or medical condition requiring special attention must be advised at the time of booking. Pursers Coaches Pty Ltd is not responsible for any loss of enjoyment, loss of touring or loss of monies should the passenger be unable to participate in the tour or in any or all of the activities. Pursers Coaches Pty Ltd will endeavour to assist all passengers but are unable to guarantee provision of individual assistance to any passenger for walking, dining, boarding or alighting coaches or other transportation vehicles or other personal needs. Luggage: Checked luggage is limited to 23kg per person. A limit of 7kg per person carry-on luggage is permitted. All bags must be clearly labelled with a name. Seat Rotation: For the enjoyment of all passengers the tour operates a daily seat rotation system which all travellers must participate in as a condition of booking. Dress: Casual/comfortable clothes are suggested for the duration of the tour. Suitable footwear is recommended. Please ensure you pack a hat/visor, sunglasses and sunscreen Dietary Requirements: Special dietary requests (eg: Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Lactose Intolerant and Diabetic) should be advised at the time of booking. These requirements will be requested to the accommodation providers. Any further intolerances needing to be managed are the responsibility of the passenger.
