Sample Itinerary Hudson Bay 2021 POLAR BEAR MOTHER & CUB BY RAMONA BOONE This Summer Dual Lodge Safari provides guests with the incredible opportunity to experience the best access to polar bears, beluga whales, black bears, wolves, northern lights, myriad bird species and other Arctic wildlife. Daily excursions to walk with polar bears and other Arctic wildlife, informative evening presentations by wildlife guides and of course, famous tundra-inspired cuisine are among the wonderful features on offer!

At 7:00 pm a dinner will be held at the hotel, where you will meet your group and your adventure specialist. You will need your rest for your early morning departure to Churchill. Includes: Dinner Depart on flight Winnipeg for Churchill and then flight Day 2 to Seal River Heritage Lodge Today your adventure begins… you will depart Winnipeg for Churchill early in the morning on Calm Air International. Upon your arrival in Churchill you will transfer to a private charter for your flight to Seal River Heritage Lodge. You may have some excellent opportunities for aerial photography during the flight, so make sure you have your camera ready!
Upon arrival at Seal River Heritage Lodge, your hosts will provide a tour and show you to your room to get settled. Lunch is served shortly after your arrival, and you will then be given an orientation regarding your stay in Polar Bear country. Includes: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day 3, 4 & 5 Daily excursions from Seal River Heritage Lodge Each morning after a hot breakfast, your guides will outline a plan for the day’s excursions. Your days will typically include morning and afternoon excursions of the coastline in search of the “Great Ice Bear.” Back at the lodge, enjoy appetizer hour followed by one of our signature tundra-inspired meals. If there are bears near the Lodge, your scheduled tours may be delayed to take advantage of these photo and observation opportunities. The lodge is always staffed, so you also have the option to stay behind and take photos of the wildlife around the Lodge or just relax and enjoy the pristine view. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a zodiac trip to the mouth of the Seal River to experience the belugas up close and personal! Evenings typically include an informative lecture or slide show presentation narrated by one of the knowledgeable guides or staff. On clear nights, you may also have a chance to view one of the spectacular aurora borealis displays common at this latitude. Includes: Breakfast lunch dinner AURORA BOREALIS BY CHARLES GLATZER Depart Seal River Heritage Lodge on a charter flight to Day 6 Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge Time to pack up and move to your new home, Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge. The property is about 250 km southeast of Churchill and the 90-minute charter flight will include a fly over of York Factory, the hub of the historic fur trade. Upon arrival, you will once again be met by the staff and given the opportunity to settle into your rooms. Includes: Breakfast lunch dinner
Day 7, 8 & 9 Daily excursions from Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge Nature trekking, Polar Bears & Magnificent photographic opportunities… Breakfast will generally be served at 8:00 a.m. and your outings will begin at about 9:30 a.m. If there are bears near the Lodge your tour may be delayed to take advantage of the photo and observation opportunities. The option is also always available for anyone to stay behind to take photos of the wildlife around the Lodge and relax. Daily outings may include the following, depending on weather and ground conditions; The average day includes morning and afternoon excursions with lunch served either at the Lodge or out on the trail. An ATV coastal tour, with emphasis on safety and low environmental impact, to the tidal flats and Hudson Bay shoreline. Lunch and a tea boil are served around a campfire. A full day tour of the coastline of Hudson Bay to photograph polar bears and other abundant wildlife in their unique environment. Lunch and a tea boil are served around a campfire. After lunch you will explore the river deltas and coastal eskers. Staying close to the Lodge to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves as the day unfolds, to photograph the King of the Arctic and other wildlife. POLAR BEAR VIEWING BY CHARLES GLATZER Appetizers and cocktails are served at 6:00 p.m. and dinner is served at 7:00 p.m. During the evening there will be an informative lecture, slide show presentation, or informal visiting. Vigilant staff will monitor Aurora Borealis after dark if conditions are optimal and will provide a gentle wake-up call to ensure you don’t miss any opportunities to witness and photograph this spectacular Arctic phenomenon. After another hearty Lodge breakfast, you will begin air transfers back to Churchill. Have your cameras ready for the return flight as it affords excellent opportunities for great aerial shots. Today is your last day in Churchill. Upon your return to Churchill, our representative will store your luggage. The balance of the day is then free for browsing the shops and exhibits of Churchill. Local places such as Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, the Eskimo Museum, the Polar Bear Holding Compound (otherwise known as the Polar Bear Jail), as well as the Parks Canada exhibit are all of great interest. Your flight south to Winnipeg will take place this evening. Upon your arrival into Winnipeg, collect your bags and settle in at THE GRAND Airport Hotel for a restful night filled with cherished memories. Includes: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day 11 Day of departure Today you will fly home on your own travel arrangements, marking the end of your adventure and the beginning of a lifetime of savouring the experiences of the Arctic. This all-inclusive 11 day package includes return airfare from Winnipeg to Churchill and out to the lodges, four nights at Seal River Lodge, four nights at Nanuk Lodge, a pre and post tour stay in Winnipeg, as well as all the meals and activities as outlined in the itinerary. Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge is located 250 km southeast of Churchill, Manitoba on the Hudson Bay coast near the historic York Factory. A proud destination due to the phenomenal wildlife access it provides. Recent upgrades to Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge include a new lounge and dining area with panoramic views of Hudson Bay, and a cosy fireplace for added ambiance. Heated private guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms are cosy, wild and perfectly comfortable.
Important information… Payment In the event of a go ahead we will require a non-refundable 30% deposit and the balance to be settled 3 months prior to arrival. We may have to impose more stringent payment and cancellation terms, should that be demanded of us by any of our individual suppliers that have been included in your itinerary. The tour price is fixed in the currency quoted. Should you wish to pay in another currency (payments can be made either in USD or ZAR) the actual cost in the other currency will be calculated according to prevailing exchange rates at the time of final invoicing. We use the exchange rate of the day with a 3% margin (the typical exchange rate applied by credit card companies), using this source: http://www.oanda.com – the currency quoted is plugged into the “Currency I Want” and the INTERBANK +/- is adjusted to 3% automatically generating the rate of the day. Guests are given 7 days to process with wire, after which we may need to update the exchange rate. Please note • Upon confirmation of this tour, the cancellation policy for Bellingham Safaris will be effective immediately and the parties agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions as stated in our booking form. In the event of the Booking Form not being signed, the placement of any booking/s, by any means including e-mail, shall be deemed to be confirmation that the Terms and Conditions have been read, understood, any queries have been addressed to the satisfaction of the parties and that the parties agree to be bound by thereto. • Scheduled tour prices are based on group numbers and should the need arise there may be a small group supplement. However if this does occur you have the right to cancel your tour without incurring any cancellation charges as long as you notify Bellingham Safaris within 7 days of the announcement. The announcement will be made prior to final invoicing. • Rates quoted are subject to change if there are any increases in park fees, fuel, sales tax or VAT, third-party services, currency fluctuations or any other circumstances beyond our control. We will use our best endeavours to bring such changes to your attention, but you are nevertheless bound thereby. • Prices are subject to unforeseen increases in tour related costs. Should an amendment in a routing or itinerary be necessary, we will adjust the price but such adjustment will be for your account. • If the number of nights or dates of travel or number of participants should change, this may have an effect on the cost.
