               Join us for a FREE culminating One Book One Community Author Watch Party and
         Live Stream event at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, featuring New York Times Best-Selling author
         of The Yellow House, Sarah M. Broom, along with award-winning author of The Revisioners,
           Margaret Wilkerson Sexton. The panel-style program will be presented in-person on the
            BIG screen of the Large Meeting Room at the Main Library at Goodwood, virtually via
         YouTube live stream, and will include a robust discussion of each author’s book, as well as

Building a Better America with AMOA!
                                           An understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity are the foundational
                                       building blocks to ensuring a better America for us all! The America, My Oyster
                                       Association (AMOA) is proud to launch Building a Better America Today with
                                       AMOA, an online certification program in conjunction with the East Baton Rouge
                                       Parish Library. The program is designed for high school and college students, and
                                       recent graduates who want to learn more about the fundamentals of diversity,
                                       cultural competency, and empathy. This interactive program will introduce
                                       participants to a diverse array of curated online courses through Lynda.com and
                                       Gale Presents: Udemy Courses, which participants can complete at their own
                                       pace between Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, June 6. Seating is limited for the in-

Our Louisiana Now On View at LASM
    Our Louisiana, on view until January 14,
2024, explores Louisiana’s history and culture
through objects from LASM’s permanent
collection. Featuring artwork in a variety
of media by Louisiana-born and Louisiana-
based artists, the exhibition is divided into the
categories of Nineteenth Century Art; Modern
Art; Contemporary Art; Baton Rouge Art; and
Self-Taught Art, Folk Art, and Craft. Organized
by the Louisiana Art & Science Museum and
curated from its collection, Our Louisiana is on
view on the first floor of the main gallery.
