Welcome to the 2022 Broadwater County Fair! Broadwater County Fair- Open Class Divisions Country Pride, County Wide is the theme for the 2022 Broadwater County Fair & Rodeo. Please join us at the fairgrounds to OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM relax and enjoy a great week of Fair and Rodeo fun! Help us show off our pride for both our country and the awesome county ENTRIES DUE NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM ON TUESDAY, JULY 6TH, 2022 we live in. Entry forms may be: • Dropped off: to the Broadwater County Fair Office (416 Broadway, Townsend) We will have lots of things to see and experience this year including 4-H livestock shows and sale, great vendors, local talent • Mailed to: Broadwater County Fair Office, 416 Broadway, Townsend MT 59644 (postmarked by July 6th) performing under the tent and some great entertainment as well as a LIVE CONCERT, featuring EL WENCHO!! We are so excit- ed to invite El Wencho back again for our fair kick off concert! El Wencho is a band out of Bozeman, MT who likes to get the • Scanned and emailed to: fair@co.broadwater.mt.us crowd on their feet and dancing!! So get your dancing boots on, you don’t want to miss this show! • You may also enter online through FairEntry. Instructions can be found on page 3 of this Fair Book. Extra copies of this form are available from the Fair Office. Open class registered entries will be taken on Wednesday, August 3rd from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the 4-H Building. All ex- * NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED * hibits will be open to the public on Thursday at 3:00pm. The Western Days Rodeo (Youth Division) will open the Rodeo events on Thursday evening at 6:00pm. Exhibition Class: Age as of June 1st, 2022 Exhibitor Name: Elementary Youth (Age 6-10) Junior Youth (Age 11-14) ALL entries, both paper and electronic, MUST be in the fair office (416 Broadway) NO LATER than Wednesday, July 6th, 2022. Email: Senior Youth (Age 15-18) This will allow plenty of time for entry tags to be made. As in years past, if you have Horticulture entries they can be brought to check-in on Wednesday, August 3rd without pre-registration. This exception is for Horticulture ONLY. Open Class General Rules OPEN CLASS ENTRY DEPARTMENT G-Livestock • Please be advised of the following age groups (ages are determined as of June 1st of the current year): - ELEMENTARY YOUTH: Ages 6-10 Please read all Open Class general rules listed in the beginning of this book. A 4-H exhibitor may not enter the - JUNIOR YOUTH: Ages 11-14 same livestock exhibit in an open class. - SENIOR YOUTH: Ages 15-18 GENERAL LIVESTOCK RULES: - ADULTS: Age 19+ 1. Each exhibitor must furnish own feed, pails, and equipment as needed for their livestock. • An exhibitor must have been a resident of Broadwater County, Montana for one year prior to the Broadwater County Fair 2. Exhibitor must be 11 years old or older as of June 1st of the current year to exhibit a beef animal. opening day (Wednesday August 3rd, 2022). 3. Exhibitor must be 7 years old or older as of June1st of this year to exhibit smaller animals. • All entries must be properly entered using the registration form printed in this book or through the FairEntry website by the fair entry deadline, Wednesday, July 6th, 2022. 4. Exhibitor must be dressed in appropriate western attire when showing his or her livestock. • The entry form can be found on page 17 and additional entry forms may be obtained at the Fair Office or from any one of the 5. Write the department, select division and class to which your exhibit pertains. Describe your exhibit. Example: If you wish to enter a counted cross-stitch wall hanging made from a kit that depicts a field of flowers, your entry form should look like this... OPEN CLASS ENTRY DEPARTMENT F-Agronomy Directions on using FairEntry Please read all Open Class general rules listed in the beginning of this book. FairEntry is the online registration for Open Class Exhibits at the Fair. AGRONOMY includes: house plants, threshed grain/seed/grass, baled hay and grass/grain sheaves. Entries are open from May 16th -July 6th, 2022. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. DIVISION 75 - HOUSE PLANTS: When filling out your entry form, please specify if your house plant needs to be STEP 1: hung. Enter your email address twice and click Create Account. 3. Samples should not show existence of frost, weather, insect damage or any kind of evidence of disease. IMPORTANT: This must be a valid email address, so that you can receive the necessary confirmation messages. BEST OF SHOW ROSETTES will be awarded at judge’s discretion. Judges’ decisions are final.
