Announcements Davison High School September 24, 2021 When do Homecoming dance tickets go on sale? Answer: Tickets go on sale during all lunches on Monday, September 27. See page 2 of these announcements for more information. 1
Class of 2024 Counseling Office Classroom Sophomore students—Class of 2024 You have a counseling office classroom! Here you will find interesting ways to help out with the parade truck for homecoming, walking in the parade, and a lot of other fun things to do throughout the year! Join today! Here is how to join this group: Go to google classroom Click the + sign Put in the class doe: cx26t2k Homecoming Dance Tickets Tickets for the Homecoming Dance are $10 and will be on sale at all lunches beginning Monday, September 27. Tickets will be $12 at the door. In order to buy a ticket for an outside date, you must have submitted your paperwork for an outside date and have an approval slip. The deadline for the outside date forms is NOON THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24! 2

ANIME CLUB MEMBERS Please stop in to see Mrs. Stedry in room 220 TODAY after school to answer a question regarding the homecoming parade. The question will take about 2 minutes. OCTOBER is College Month in Michigan October is College Month in Michigan and many colleges waive their application fee during the month of October. Some colleges such as Michigan State University offer an application fee waiver for only a short period of time. We want each and every cardinal to take advantage of this opportunity, so please look at the dates of colleges you are interested in that offer a waive in application fee. These links are available on the Class of 2022 Google Classroom. Planning on getting a parking permit? Here are some things you need to know if you are getting a parking permit: ALL fines & fees MUST be paid BEFORE you can get a parking permit. A yellow DHS Vehicle Registration form must be completed and signed by both student and parent. Pick one up in the front office before coming to get your permit. Bring your Michigan vehicle registration and your driver’s license. It is $20 to purchase a parking permit. Cash or you can pay online with debit or credit card in the efunds area. Once we have all of the above complete, you will be assigned the next available parking spot. Sophomores may get parking permits beginning on Wednesday, September 22. 8
After School Tutoring NHS members are available for after school tutoring. Tutoring is held every Tuesday and Thursday right after school until 3:30pm. Students who need help just have to show up to the library with whatever assignments they need assistance with and our tutors will happily help them out! 9
VEX Robotics Club There is a VEX Robotics Club kickoff meeting on Thursday, September 30, from 2:50—4:15 in room 117 in the DAE building. Students in all grades are invited. Mr. Lawrence is leading this club. Hispanic Heritage Month The media center now has Hispanic Heritage books out as this is Hispanic Heritage Month September 15—October 15. Both fiction and non-fiction books celebrating Hispanic Heritage are available. AP Registration AP Registration forms and money are due in the Guidance Office ON or BEFORE October 21, 2021. 10
Homecoming Dance Outside Dates The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 7:00pm—10:00pm. Guests age 20 and under will be considered for approval as an outside date. NO guests age 21 or older will be considered under any circumstances. If you want to bring an outside date to this dance, you must complete a School Dance Guest Application and it must be completed by your guest’s school administrator AND returned to DHS by NOON, Friday, Sept. 24. These forms are now available in the front office. Get your form for an outside guest at the front office TODAY!!!! 11

September “Gold Out” Campaign Davison Community Schools is pleased to announce once again that it is partnering with Hilton Screeners to raise funds for Childhood Cancer through a “Gold Out” apparel program during the month of September. A percentage of sales will be donated to St. Jude’s for child cancer research. In addition, our September 24 home football game will be a GOLD OUT game where people will be encouraged to wear their gold clothing to show their support. If your student is absent, please call the attendance line at 810-591-1165 to report their absence. If your student is late, they should report to the Attendance Office when they arrive and complete a check in and receive a pass to class. If your student has an appointment and needs to leave school early, please call the attendance line at 810-591-1165 to leave a message. Please include your student’s name and the TIME they are to be released. Attendance will have a pass for them to pick up either between hours or at the time they are to be released. If you are picking the student up, please wait in your vehicle and the student will be sent out at the release time that you indicated. 18
