Animals of North America The great frigatebird lives off the coast of Hawaii. The male has a red gular sac which he uses to attract a female. The female bird has a white spot on her neck and blue rings around her eyes. Seahorses are a unique animal, as it is not the female who carries babies but the male. Dozens and sometimes hundreds of eggs are carried by the male in what is called a 'brood pouch'. Blue footed boobies dance to attract a partner. Both the male and female contribute to protecting and raising their young. Breeding pairs typically care for between one and three blue eggs at a time. Wolves have an average life span in the wild of 6 to 8 years. When a wolf finds a partner they stay with them for life. Wolves live in a family group called a 'pack' and baby wolves are called 'pups'. A male kingfisher will give a gift of fish to females to attract them. A pair of kingfishers work together to build their home called a 'burrow' along the edges of streams or rivers. Retrouvez-nous sur : www.americanvillage.fr
