All hail the Q.U.E.E.N of innovation, the woman, the musician, the artist of 2018.
Janelle Monae has just released her 3rd studio album, Dirty Computer. An album
celebrating the complexities of sexuality, liberism, empowerment and self-
acceptance. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Laced with heavy influence from
Prince, this is an album that has already been championed by critics as THE album
of 2018. Tracks like ‘Make me Feel’ and ‘Pynk’ are perfect, catchy pop tunes. Along
with the release of Dirty Computer, Janelle has announced a tour that will kick off
in June with dates across the US, Canada and France.

GUCCI MANE OFFICIALLY GOLD
Gucci Mane dropped his 11th studio album ‘Mr Davis’ towards the end of last year, 17
months since his release from prison. It went down a storm within the Hip Hop
community featuring appearances from A-listers Nicki Minaj and A$AP Rocky. Critics
have hailed it his most consistent and accessible album yet.

IT’S THE WIZ, FO’ SHIZ!
Summer 2018 will be THE season for the most anticipated hip hop album releases.
Amongst the long wait for the likes of Kanye, Kid Cudi and Drake, WIZ KHALIFA will
be dropping his latest project titled ‘Rolling Papers 2’. He took to Instagram
earlier this month telling fans that the 13th July will be the date of release.
Wiz will also be starting his tour this month kicking off at the Rolling Loud
Festival in Miami, then heading across the US then to Aerodrom Festival in the
Czech Republic and then across Europe to play more festivals.

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY, HELLO NASTY!
Hello Nasty was the Beastie Boys 5th studio album released 20 years ago back in ’98.
It was a phenomenal success having won 2 Grammys for Best Alternative Music Album
and Best Rap Performance. It sold over 680k copies in the first week and debuted #1
on the Billboard Album Sales chart. For those of us old enough to remember it first
time around, we at AR still can’t get enough of those killer earworm hooks on Body
Movin’, ‘Super Disco Breakin’ and of course ‘Intergalactic’!
