Accommodation Guide 2021 We understand that moving away from home for the first time can be a daunting prospect, so here at BGU we want to make the transition as easy as possible. To eradicate the first worry of ‘where will I live’ we guarantee accommodation to all our first- year students. University is an amazing learning curve, you’ll not only come out with a degree, but also essential life skills. We know it can be a lot at first so to help you ease into it our rent includes your utilities (such as heating and water) and internet. Living in a close community is an excellent way to make friends and get an all-round student experience. You’ll be close to your lectures and seminars, you’ll literally always have someone to talk to, and often there will be older students who can help and advise you when needed. 05
Accommodation Guide 2021 LIVING IN LINCOLN We love Lincoln, from its cobbled street charm uphill to its modern water front magic downhill. Lincoln has so much to offer students – the history enthusiast can marvel at the castle, the bargain hunter can trawl the boutiques, the foodie fanatic can dine at independent restaurants and bistros, there really is something for everyone! BGU is lucky enough to be positioned in the historic heart of Lincoln – close to the Cathedral and within easy reach of the high street. There truly is something for everyone, and with BGU having close connections with many aspects of city life - from 06
Accommodation Guide 2021 The city is really beautiful. Especially up the top of the hill, the Cathedral is beautiful. You only see this kind of place in movies so it’s really good for me to see it in real life. – Dong Li the iconic Cathedral to one of Lincoln’s largest nightclubs – you’ll be sure to find a regular stream of events and entertainment throughout the year to keep you entertained. 07
Accommodation Guide 2021 UPHILL My favourite thing to do Lincoln is essentially split into two halves by the award winning ‘Steep Hill’, is to just walk around uphill, it’s so named after the fact it literally is a very relaxing and it soothes me! steep hill! If ever I’m really stressed out I just go for Uphill Lincoln is a cobbled a walk. Accommodation Guide 2021 DOWNHILL Saunter down Steep Hill (much easier on the way down than the way up!) and you’ll meet Lincoln’s opulent high street. The contrasting modern city centre hosts a shopping experience you’d expect to find in such a student- focused city, not to mention bustling nightlife and pubs aplenty. At the bottom of the high street is the Brayford Marina. With a host of restaurants, pubs and the Odeon Cinema – not to mention plenty of swans – you won’t be short of things to do! 09

We try and ensure our accommodation options will cater for all, with different characters based around shared facilities or en–suite cluster flats. As a first-year student we will guarantee you accommodation, be it on-campus, near campus or in one of our desirable private houses. Our student accommodation includes options such as 24-hour security, inclusive rent, wireless technology - allowing the flexibility to access the internet whenever you like - and more! 10
