Unique features for snowboarders and freeskiers In Absolut Park, one of the world's largest snow parks, around 100 perfectly shaped kickers, boxes and rails are waiting for ambitious freeskiers and snowboarders in a huge area. Beginners and pros will find versatile obstacles for all levels in the different areas. National and international snowboard and freeski contests prove the Absolut Park’s high quality. To receive feedback regularly, the Absolut Park sponsors one of the biggest freestyle teams worldwide, including top international athletes, well-known Austrian riders and up-and-coming locals. The Chill House at the bottom of the Absolut Park is a popular meeting place for snowboarders and freeskiers — for a snack, watching videos, bouldering or skating in the Mini Ramp. All the amenities of a modern ski resort: On the Shuttleberg you will only find modern, comfortable chairlifts. Each lift has at least two well- groomed runs, in addition, there are several natural freeride routes. The Shuttleberg has its own motorway exit in Flachauwinkl (A10, Tauernautobahn) and in Kleinarl the valley station is located directly at the entrance to the village. Besides, free ski buses run at short intervals to Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl. One ticket — 760 kilometres of slopes The Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl - Kleinarl is located in the centre of Ski amadé, Austria's largest ski association. Multi-day ski passes are valid for five top ski regions and 760 kilometres of groomed slopes in the province of Salzburg and in neighbouring Styria — an additional plus for skiers and snowboarders who like to go for miles. News 2018/19 on the Shuttleberg • 20 years of Absolut Park: In 1999 the first freestyle facilities were built on the Shuttleberg with the name Absolut Park. Between the Spring Battle (from 16.03.2019) and the end of the season (22.04.2019) a six-week anniversary program will take place in the entire park area with photo and video shootings, events such as the 10th anniversary of The Stash, a Cash For Trick session and a Banked Slalom, special and even more obstacles and extended runs in The Stash and in the Absolut Park. • Happy birthday, The Stash! The natural park is already ten years old, but still as cool as on the first day. 2018/19 The Stash was equipped with many new, hand-carved wooden obstacles and the Lil' Stash, the easy to ride part below the Powder Shuttle top station, was extended. • The Family Run has become even safer and more family-friendly: Shortly before entering the Lumberjack Shuttle, the tunnel was widened to provide more space for turning off or continuing. • A second start has been added to the Cross Run, the popular boarder- and ski-cross track. Now beginners and advanced riders can start into the wild race track according to their level. • In winter 2018/19 another larger-than-life Crazy Doll will join Lazy Luis, the two-metre-high lion sculpture: The green ram Heavy Hias, who will pose with you for group photos at any time. • Thanks to a brand-new skiosk® ticket machine at the ticket office in Flachauwinkl, our guests benefit from shorter waiting times and flexible opening hours when buying a ski pass: they can buy
hourly, daily and multi-day tickets and return keycards around the clock via an easy-to-use touch screen, and can pay conveniently with card. Two new projects: • Wagrain-Kleinarl connection: From December 2019, a 3.1-kilometre long ten-seater gondola will connect the Shuttleberg with Wagrain, from the Flachauwinkl - Kleinarl ridge to the Flying Mozart slope. Then guests will reach the nearby mountain in only twelve minutes. From the station on the Shuttleberg, they can choose all descents. • Ski path Kleinarl Süd: From the last bend of the Kleinarl slope, a new ski path will be built that leads to the Champion Shuttle bottom station in the valley. It will be equipped with snow cannons and will be open from December to April. From winter 2019/20, many more accommodations in Kleinarl can be reached directly via the ski path. Absolut Park Team News • Ståle Sandbech and Torgeir Bergrem have a lot in common: Both are Norwegians, travel a lot together and are often in front of the camera in twos on YouTube. Starting this winter season, they will also be team buddies in the Absolut Park Team and will undoubtedly be pulling their laps around the park more often than before. • Slopestyle Olympic participant Yuka Fujimori from Japan will join the ladies from now on. She is the first Asian in the Absolut Park Team and since her victory at the Spring Battle in 2017 you can see her in the park time and again. Events 2018/19 on the Shuttleberg Throughout the winter, the Shuttleberg offers fun events for children with the Crazy Dolls, the Salzburg ClownDoctors and larger-than-life Easter bunnies. Adults are happy about the Mega Ski & Snowboard Test or the SAAC Camp and freestylers about the numerous contests in the Absolut Park — by the way, these are also exciting to watch! December 27, 2018: Crazy Dolls Party The Crazy Dolls are having a party at the Sun House shortly after Christmas. They invite all children to an action-packed day with different challenges, an exciting mountain rally and a party at the Sun House, where participants will receive a surprise. February 13, 2019: Mega Ski & Snowboard Test If you would like to test the latest skis and snowboards, our Mega Ski & Snowboard Test is the right place for you. Renting and testing of the equipment is free of charge and includes competent advice. The event starts at 10 a.m. in front of the Chill House. March 05, 2019: Clown Party The Salzburg ClownDoctors will make you laugh on Shrove Tuesday: They play with tuba, costumes, balloons and other equipment at the Sun House on the Shuttleberg. Don't miss this! March 9 to 10, 2019: SAAC Basic Camp The SAAC Basic Camp is a two-day avalanche safety camp including theory and practical training for backcountry fans. You can sign up for the camp in fall at www.saac.at.
April 17, 2019: Easter Rabbit Party At the Easter Rabbit Party, bunnies are strapping on skis and boards. As well, a fun egg hunt, huge Easter statues built of snow, an exciting scavenger hunt and a special surprise will entertain all kids. Contests in the Absolut Park December 15 to 16, 2018: Jib King The Jib King has been rescheduled this season and will take place in December 2018. Besides, we have added two new categories to the amateur contest: Sponsored Riders for freeskiers and snowboarders with sponsorship contracts and Masters for the slightly older semesters (over 30). Both categories are open to men and women, with prize money waiting for the sponsored riders, while the others can win high-quality prizes. You can register for free on the day of the contest in the Chill House. January 20, 2019: Cash for Trick Tour The Cash for Trick Tour is a pop-up event tour that takes place twice a month from January to March in selected snow parks in the Ski amadé area. Two judges reward your best tricks with cash, you can collect five euros per trick. March 16 to 22, 2019: Spring Battle At the end of March, freeski and snowboard pros from all over the world meet in the Absolut Park for the Spring Battle, where they celebrate their season-end with an innovative contest and send it on the demanding setup. The Spring Battle is a World Snowboarding Elite Level and an AFP Gold Event, but still, fun and creativity are a priority. The follow cam format is very popular with the athletes; any registered rider handing in an uncut video in time, showing his or her best run, will be judged. Riders can film each other for a couple of days and have enough time to step up their trick level. April 6, 2019: ZSAEP Experience The ZSAEP Experience is a one-day freeski event for rookies aged 18 and younger, who get a chance to show their skills at the Medium Line in the Absolut Park. You can register for free in the Chill House on the day of the event.
