Welcome to Term 3 Welcome everyone to Term 3, 2021 with Summit. Things are really starting to get back to normal, however we still must stay vigilant and do the right things, by following any restrictions or guidelines that the Government decide are necessary. We are putting out the Term 3 Booklet, as we used to do, to give everyone as much notice of activities, programs and holidays for this period as possible. At anytime for any reason, we may need to cancel or alter an activity, program or holiday. We will inform you of any necessary changes or alterations to this program, with as much notice as possible. Just a reminder, please do not turn up to an activity/event unless you have received a confirmation email, NOT the registration email, that is only letting you know that we have received your booking it is not a confirmation.
Expressions of Interest We are looking for Expressions of interest for the following programs. Group Fitness We have a Personal trainer interested in getting a group of people together that would like to do some fitness sessions at least once a week. These sessions would be targeted towards your fitness goals, such as to lose weight and gain strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Sports Fitness This group would also focus on improving your activity levels which will in turn help with your cardiovascular endurance, strength and Flexibility but will be done by playing various sports and activities. Each week would focus on a different sport, such as soccer, basketball, touch football and netball, that will help you reach your fitness goals. If you would be interested, please book in via your portal. We will need at least 5 people committed to these groups to start.
Summit July Break Over the July School Holiday period, we will still be running a couple of weekday activities. The days are as follows: Monday 28th June- The Entrance Thursday 1st July- Bundeena Monday 5th July- Narrabeen Lakes Thursday 8th July- Warragamba Dam These days will start at 9:30am at the cottage and finish at 3:30pm at the Cottage. Please go to the Portal to book into any individual day you would like to attend. Note: Social Group will still be running during the School Holidays as Normal
Summit Holidays Holidays during Term 3 are as follows. Please go to the Portal to book into any of these holidays you may like to attend. July Monday 19th–Friday 23rd July- Airlie Beach Staying at the Majestic Mirage Whitsundays, just outside of the the resort town of Airlie Beach. Aside from relaxing and enjoying the resort, with its Lagoon pool, and breathtaking turquoise- tinted, island-dotted views, we will take a day trip to the Whitsunday Islands including Hamilton Island. August Friday 6th – Sunday 8th August- Jervis Bay Come along for a relaxing weekend to beautiful Jervis Bay. Jervis Bay is famous for white Sandy beaches, beautiful National Parks and lots of wildlife. The focus of this weekend will be a magnificent Whale Watching Cruise., where we will get to see some of that marine wildlife such as dolphins, Fur seals, little penguins and hopefully lots of whales.
September Monday 30th August – Friday 3rd September – Food Tour If you like to eat, this is the trip for you. We will be travelling Regional NSW, in search of the best and tastiest local produce the area has to offer. We will start in the Hawkesbury at Bilpin, then we’ll visit towns such as Mudgee, Orange and Bathurst in search of the best cheeses, wines, meats and anything else that tickles our fancy. Monday 13th– Sunday 19th September- Tasmania This trip to Tasmania, we will be focusing on the North part of the Island. We will fly into Launceston and use it as a base to explore this region of Tasmania. We will visit the towns of Devonport, Burnie and Beaconsfield. Other points of interest we may visit include Cradle Mountain and the Bay of Fires. Please go to the Portal to book into any Holiday you wish to Attend.
Summit Sundays Sunday 1st August Glenbrook National Park This month we will head up the mountains to Glenbrook National Park. For lunch we will have a BBQ, light a fire to help keep warm and toast some marshmallows. We will also do some bushwalking and might even take some Mountain Bikes to explore some of the fire trails. Sunday 12th September- Glenworth Valley Today we will head up North to the Beautiful Glenworth Valley, After we find and set up out area for the day, we will play some games and explore the area. Hopefully, we will get to see the running of the horses. Please go to the Portal to book into the activity you would like to attend. These groups will be strictly limited numbers, so make sure you that you book in early to avoid disappointment.
GirlZone Saturday 28th August- Nature Illuminated Ok Girls,. have we got a night out for you. Deep within the foliage of Sydney’s Chinese Garden lies a spectacle of light, where the seasons change in the blink of an eye. As we admire this haven of natural beauty, while accompanied by the gentle sounds of violins and cellos. With the help of cutting-edge Augmented Reality technology and theatrical lighting, embark on a treasure hunt, interact with your surroundings, and experience the serenity of nature like never before. Not only will we experience the magnificent lights display but we will also have a beautiful Dinner with all our girl friends. ManCave & GirlZone Combined Sunday 25th July -iFly Have you ever wished that you could Fly? Well, here's your chance. We have been given the opportunity to have a group session at iFly, the new Indoor Skydiving Centre at Penrith. We only have a small number of positions available for this activity. If we get large response, we will attempt to do this activity again later. Sunday 22nd August -Pinot and Picasso If flying isn’t your cup of tea maybe you are more of an artist. We have organised a group session at Pinot and Picasso at Castle Hill. The venue will provide us with all the equipment and instruction that we will need to create a masterpiece which we get to take home. Whilst there, we will have some refreshments and enjoy learning a new skill. Please go to the Portal to book into the activity you would like to attend. ManCave & GirlZone Combined Con’t Saturday 14th August – Vivid Cruise Last year we attempted this but due to COVID it was cancelled. So, with life getting nearly back to normal we thought we would give the Vivid Cruise another go. This will be a 2-hour harbour cruise with front row access to the Vivid Lights installations across the Harbour. Cruising past the illuminated Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House with incredible photo opportunities from the huge outer decks of the vessel, so make sure to bring your camera. ManCave Saturday 4th September- 4 Pines Brewery Tour This term we are doing something different, as most of the boys like to have a beer when out with Summit, be it at the football, on a trip or just after an activity with their mates. So, we are going to take a tour of one of the 4 Pines Breweries on the Northern beaches to find out how and where the beer comes from. We will start the day with a bit of a physical activity with a walk at North Head, then off to the brewer for the tour and a spot of lunch. EELS Supporters Group The New 2021 NRL season is nearly upon us. Summit has again organized a limited number of members seats to each home game at Bankwest Stadium. Below are the games that we will be attending. If you are interested, please go to the Portal to book in. Thursday 22nd July Vs Raiders Bankwest Friday 6th August vs Rabbitohs Bankwest Saturday 21st August Vs Cowboys Bankwest Friday 3rd September Vs Panthers Bankwest With the Eels shaping to be in Finals, we will make sure that we support them when ever they play at Bankwest. We will keep you informed when the finals series comes around.
Mid Week Day Activities Mid weekday activities will continue in Term 3. First week will start Monday 12th July. The mid week groups focus on providing people who have a free day from work to spend a day out having fun with friends. Numbers will be limited for each group and priority will be given to the people who book into the group for the whole term. If you wish to attend a particular week you will have to book in by sending an email to activities@scn.org.au requesting to attend on a particular date. If there is a position available, you will be notified asap. If no position is available, you will be placed on the wait list, if position opens you will be notified. Each week’s activities will not be advertised in the booklet as each of the groups will pick their own outing for the next week at the end of each day. Prices will vary depending on the cost of the selected activity. Prices will be kept to the absolute minimum to cover costs of the activity. Bookings do not carry over from term 2, you will need to re book into your selected Mid week group. Each group has a maximum of 20 clients If you wish to attend one or more mid week groups, please go to the Portal to book into the mid week activity you would like to attend for the Term.
Wednesday Night Social Group Social Group will continue throughout the Easter Holidays at the Summit Cottage. As with last term, Wednesday Night Social Group, will be run as a term block. Each week we will have a group of 15 people going out, the remainder will be staying at the cottage, where we will have activities such as movies, karaoke etc. The bus would like to be leaving by 6PM, any later and the bus will return late, after 8:30pm.
